Staff very friendly and good location, room was clean but the whole hotel is very dated, had a room that didn't face onto the road this time so noise was less of an issue, (the tiny) TV packed up on the final night which was a bit of pain too.

Staff really friendly and helpful but the hotel is really dated. I had a second floor single room facing the road, there were single glazed sash windows so quite noisy at night, curtains didn’t keep a lot of light out either (and the days are long up there in June!). The bathroom didn’t have an extractor and you couldn’t leave the bathroom door open or the steam would set the fire alarm off (or so the sign said). The bathroom window didn’t open either, not that it would make much difference as you had to have the curtain closed (as the window was right in front of the shower!). Restaurant was really expensive for what was effectively a hotel bar, food was ok but £25 for a main course plus a glass of wine (that was £9 on its own!), there are better meals for less in town. However, after all that it was fine for what I needed at its price point. If you’re looking for a cheap room, you’re not bothered about the decor and are ok with eating out then it’ll do the job.

The Royal

I have no complaints about this hotel. It was full of coach trip guests and they were the hotel's priority, but still made welcome and everything was fine.

Hotel Room

Pros: Close to work, that's all
Cons: The rooms, bigger TV, better bathrooms
Was put in a hotel at the back of the hotel, the room was small and was not like the picture on the site. The bathroom had a bath with shower over it but every time you had a shower the curtain would wrap around you

The Royal Hotel, a good place to stop over

Pros: There was a lovely open fire at the front of the hotel and on a cold Octobers day, it was nice to sit and there and get warm.
Cons: I think the decore, could do with a little updating, other than that I wouldn't really change anything.
Location: The location was great as it was not far from the town centre or the ferry port.
The hotel staff were very friendly and it was very easy to book in and a quick process. There are various place within the hotel where you could get something to eat or drink and were of a resonable price. As we had a very early check out, the staff memeber booking us in arranged, there and then for us to have a packed lunch made so we didn't miss out on breakfast, which was a nice touch. The room it's self was a desent size and was as described within the boking details. The room was clean, tidy and also warm, which was good. The bed was comfortable and also a good size. There was a good amount of tea etc making items as often you don't always get a good amount in other hotels. Check out was very easy, we just handed the key to the front desk and then we were given our packed lunch at the same time.

die Unterkunft ist sauber, jedoch sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Das Personal ist sehr bemüht und freundlich, jedoch war unsere Ansicht, dass die Geldmittel nicht für mehr reichen, was sehr schade ist, da das Hotel mehr Kapazität hätte.

Eine Nacht und nicht mehr

In die Jahre gekommenes Hotel, das dringend saniert werden sollte. Zum Schlafen empfiehlt es sich, Ohrstöpsel mitzunehmen, da das Hotel direkt an der Hauptstrasse liegt und die Fenster nicht isolieren.

Zentral und gut

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral und ist schön eingerichtet. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist ziemlich ausgiebig und die Bar gleich nebenan hat einiges zu bieten. Zimmer sind sauber, Dusche/WC aber knapp an der Grenze.
