This hotel is located in a very bustling area. It is within walking distance of shopping, entertainment and dining. The hotel itself has a great restaurant and breakfast is recommended at least once. It also has laundry room and a bath area (men's and women's).

Stayed at a couple of APA hotels this trip. Pluses are that staff are very nice, though limited and rooms are spotless. Minuses are that they are trying to automate everything, including check in. The machines err frequently so staff assistance is needed but limited. These are basic tourist hotels so expect. Othing but a clean, extremely small room. If you are over 6 feet clearance is a major issue. Buggest problem with this is that there are 3 APA hotels in close proximity with almost identical names. Taxi drivers are confused by this and so were we. Got dropped at wrong hotel, no biggie since they're all closen but inconvenient. Also as the name says you are in kabukicho so if that isn't your vibe stay elsewhere (it wasn't ours). There is a strict 3 pm check in time and if you want to check in even 90 minutes early it is an extra charge. We ahould have stayed somewhere else.

Short 10/12 minute walk from train, with an alley across the street with lots of neat little restaurants and food stands. The onsen was a great way to relax at the end of the day. The only negative part was the check-in process. They're in the process of going self service and the system wasnt working well.

I enjoyed my stay at the APA hotel. It's about 10 mins walk from train stations. 5 mins walk from train stations would be better given the amount of walking that was required for general exploration of the city. The repeated back and forth from train stations got tiresome. Other than that, location is near restaurants, convenient stores and close to the epicenter of Shinjuku. The hotel itself is excellent. It's well-maintained and clean. The room is clean, cozy and well designed. Overall, an excellent hotel and I would recommend.

It was what I paid for. Cheap and tiny in kind of a party zone. In my younger days this would've been perfect. Room would've been more suitable for a single person, not a couple. It was fine for what I paid.

A Modern Tokyo Stay
The Apa Higashi Shinjuku Kabuchiko Tower was a great and convenient stay for my time in Tokyo. Based in Shinjuku it was easy enough for me to take the subway around the city and do a lot of shopping and sightseeing. The hotel itself is very modern, with room-key-swipe-card-access-only to the elevators and floors where the rooms are. The room itself was very effectively laid out and very flexible with a smaller amount of space. I was able to store two quite large suitcases underneath my bed and keep them completely out of my way. The TV guide that appears on screen when you arrive provides a bunch of helpful (and humorous) information about the hotel itself and about Japan/Tokyo in general. The check in process was a bit confusing, but the hotel staff were able to help me out. And when I messed up my luggage delivery and sent it from the Apa Hotel Shinjuku Kabuchiko Tower (note the lack of "Higashi" in the name) they helped me find the other hotel so I could get my bags where they needed to be. They support receiving luggage delivery and will also hold your bags if you arrive before your check in time (I wasn't able to check in early). It does get very busy when check in first opens, so I'd recommend arriving a little later!

We had to check ourselves in and fill out a bunch of information on their computer screen when we arrived which was the last thing we wanted after a long flight and journey through the subway system. The room was ridiculously small. I felt closterphobic staying in the room. The washroom is smaller than an airplane washroom and includes a shower/tub. This was the smallest of al the hotels I’ve stayed at in Japan and definitely not worth the price.

It is my third time staying at an APA hotel in Tokyo's Shinjuku neighborhood and they are an excellent value for the cost. The room is very small but comfortable, with all amenities and very clean. Staff is very courteous & professional.
