This is an old property but has been nicely refurbished. The room was large and well appointed. Nice bed and bedding. The shower could have used better fixtures. Access to the property from I-25 was somewhat inconvenient. It was easy getting to it from the south but in the morning I had to go south 1 exit to access the hi way to continue my trip north.

Dirty and has bedbugs
BEDBUGS! Avoid this hotel! We did a last minute booking on our way to a funeral. Showed up late, checked in and were not impressed with the cleanliness or lack thereof. The fitted sheet had a large tear in it that had been repaired and one of the pillows had makeup and what appeared to be blood stains. We sucked it up and tried to get some sleep before having to get back on the road. Unfortunately, about 20 minutes after lights out I felt something bite my face above my eyebrow. Turned on the light and saw a bedbug scurrying away. I grabbed it and squished it, but no way I could get any sleep after that! I am very sensitive to the bites and my face was alrady swelling up. We changed into fresh clothes, wrapped everything into trash bags that went in the back of our truck and told the front desk about the bedbug. The person there said they would let management know. Management never contacted me, never returned calls or emails, and definitely didn't return our money. Hotels.com tried to contact them and also got no where. This was far from the cheapest room available. I am so disappointed in the experience and felt they should have at least returned our money since we were there less than 2 hours and they did not provide habitable accomodations. Awful place, awful service.

My husband and I have been staying at Days Inn-Trinidad for several years. We travel from Texas to Colorado twice a year and Trinidad is the perfect halfway point. Unfortunately, it seems that this stay will be our last. The property has declined significantly since ownership changed but this year was the worst. Because we drive we carry food in a cooler. We have always been able to freeze our ice packs in the freezer and keep our food cool in the fridge. This year the fridge was held up by a notebook, the freezer was frozen over to the point that I could barely squeeze in 3 small gel packs and a baggie filled with water. The door to the freezer had been pulled off so we could only cross our fingers that the packs would freeze. I’m a bather (with a towel to sit on) but the knob to stop the shower was frozen so only the shower was available. Why didn’t we demand another room, freezer or just leave? We were too tired to pack everything back up and confront the desk clerk who doesn’t deserve our wrath. So, “buyer” beware. Inspect the room before paying, I know we will.

Room was incomplete phone was never answered by front desk and the sink drain in the bathtub was out and siting on the ledge the phone blinked a red light all night they didn’t have an extra blower drawer the room had holes and over and needed to be redone and painted

Appropriate price is $80-90 hotel
The beds were comfortable and clean; however the comforters were tired looking. The room was generally clean. TVs are okay. The carpets need shampooing, the bathroom walls needed better cleaning but we were comfortable. Frig, micro, drip coffee pot so we brewed our own. Iron and ironing board. I say all that because I think it was over priced at $129.00/night before taxes. The breakfast was typical: powdered, watery eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits, pancakes, waffles, pastries, coffee, juice. It was mediocre at best. They allow pets, they have a designated outdoor cannabis smoking area. They sprayed the room with a strong chemical that lingered even after three nights. The staff was helpful and friendly. Sorry no pics.

The Pool was closed. It was Hot and I was looking forward to using the pool. So, that was disappointing. I stayed three nights, yet only two towels were provided, housekeeping came in daily and emptied trash but ignored everything else. Room was nice, Restaurant/bar was nice, walking distance to downtown was convenient.
