This hotel is unique in that it's located just minutes from the town but essentially on the edge of rice fields, in the countryside. Beautiful views, quiet is combined with sophistication of the city center hotel.

Hands down THE place to stay in Tsuruoka
Unique location literally in a rice field surrounded by expansive nature. Facility has beautiful but minimalist features with eco-friendly and sustainable aspects throughout.

Amazingly designed hotel with a view of mountains and rice farm. Staff are very friendly. The waiter at Moon Terrace is very nice to explain to me the menu in English and also the lady in the breakfast. The downside of the hotel is they should provide a shuttle bus to the train station since it’s very far.

We stayed just one night, but from check-in to check-out we had an amazing time here. Coming from Tsuruoka JR Station, it cost us 1150 yen one way via taxi and 10 minutes to arrive here. Standing in the middle of a paddy pond amid the freshly planted rice paddies of the surrouding area, the design of the hotel is stunning, modern and sleek. Check-in was a breeze and staff spoke very good English. Every corner in the hotel seemed to have something new to see. As far as amenities, we appreciated the deep soaking tub in our room after a long train journey and the option of the public spa area/gym. We were also very grateful for coin laundry on the 1st floor costing ¥300 for washer, ¥100 for 30 minutes drying and ¥30 for the detergent. We elected not to try dinner at the Terrace, but entrees seemed to run from ¥1200 to ¥3000. Breakfast was an amazing spread of Western and Japanese foods. There is a great focus on local foods and sustainability at the hotel reflected in the food selection and gift selections at the gift shoppe. Overall, I was so impressed with our night here, I wished we could have stayed longer.

Suiden Terrasse is a new hotel, and it looks like that. The feel is very modern. It is not at all like your standard Japanese business hotel. The rooms are more western looking and much more roomy than business hotels. I really like the layout of the hotel, it is super neat. There is a welcoming lobby with a great library, local goods, and a good restaurant. The view from the restaurant is beautiful, on a clear day. All in all I would recommend staying here.

Hotel con vista su risaia
Se si visita Tsuruoka o s'intende fare una gita sul monte Haguro, questo albergo offre un'ottima opportunità di soggiorno. Per chi arriva in auto, c'è un ampio parcheggio gratuito. Le camaere sono ampie e luminose. Peccato che il climatizzatore sia posto ad altezza d'uomo e questo può diventare a volte fastidioso. A prate questo piccolo inconveniente, il confort è ad alti livelli. Se si ha la foprtuna di avere una camera con balcoine sopra la risaia, si potrà uscire di notte e godere della luna che si riflette nelle acquye oltre che ad un concerto inusuale di rane. Il personale è estremamente disponibile e fa di tutto per vincere le bariere linguistiche. Colazione più in stile giapponese con limitata scelta per chi desidera una colazione continentale. Ottimo il ristorante anche se un po' caro. Se siete avventurosi, provate ad andare in città magari prenotando prima per non correre il rischio di essere rifiutati.

Ongelooflijk mooi hotel. Ontworpen voor maximale rust en privacy. Wel redelijk ver van het centrum als je geen eigen vervoer hebt. Het is daarom goed dat je in het hotel kan dineren, al was dat voor Japanse normen vrij prijzig.
