Beautiful place, but seaweed prohibited beach front access adn enjoyment...

I wish I had been informed earlier about the sargassum seaweed problem in Tulum. The beach was accessible from the house, however, the seaweed precluded us from enjoying the beach!

It is a really secluded getaway with a beach that was all our own, we rarely glimpsed any other humans in the neighborhood save for Maria and Miguel, the staff for the house who are always anxious to help but keep a low profile to allow the privacy their guests covet. Overall a wonderful place to go...

Gorgeous Luxury Property

Casa Nalum was an incredible find. The open airy construction of the property makes it comfortable even in the hottest of weather. We barely needed the AC, although it was lovely to retreat to our cool bedrooms after a day on the beach. We happened to arrive to Sian Ka’an the same time as a large patch of Sargassum seaweed, but luckily we could jump between the sea and the beautiful pool at Casa Nalum, which was always kept sparkling and clean. The yoga deck was lovely as well for morning yoga sessions. A truly incredible stay.

Beautiful villa on the beach

Great house, spectacular beach and location, warm and wonderful staff. The chef they hired for us was top notch--every kind of seafood was tasty and 5 star restaurant presentation. If you want variety in the menu suggest being more specific in advance--we were happy to allow chef's choice. The villa is located down a bumpy rural road about 10-20 minutes from town (depending on weather) in the beautiful Sian Ka'an BioReserve. Lots of crabs crusing around. Bring organic insect repelllent--lots of flies and mosquitoes. If you have a group I would suggest hiring the extra waiter who was such a help with meals but also kept cold beverages flowing and fresh while we were on the beach.
