Venice: elegant and comfortable apartment completely renewed this year, located in the heart of Venice a few steps from the Ca' d'Oro water bus stop, between Canal Grande and Rio Santa Sofia, close to the main shopping street (Strada Nuova) and Rialto Bridge, in a very peaceful 'calle'.

The apartment is really easy to reach, even with luggage, as it is just 150 meters from Vaporetto “Ca’ D’oro” stop and there aren’t stairs or bridges to cross.

The apartment is a pretty and comfortable two zone: one-night zone with a double-bedded room where the bed can be turned into two single beds; one day zone with a wide space for laundry (washing machine and dryer for use) and a living room in which it can be prepared a single bed (from the sofa bed there located).
Both zones have a bathroom, as the apartment has a double restroom (section dedicated for more information about this).
Ca’ della Fontanella also has a pretty courtyard completely private, that can be reached from both apartment zones, where you can dine or just relax outside, in complete quiet and privacy.

The capacity of the house is 4 people.
It is the ideal accommodation for a couple with children or friends.

This very comfortable apartment has just been renovated. It is equipped with a complete kitchen inclusive of a microwave, 4 gas burners, and a dishwasher.
Also, there are two Hi-Fi equipment and two television for the two zones, flat iron, and two hair dryer; linen and towels are provided. There are also two air conditioning systems for the two zones and an Internet connection with fast free Wi-Fi.

Location of the house
Ca' della Fontanella is very strategical: is situated next to the main commercial street “Strada Nuova” where you can find any kind of services (shops, restaurants, supermarkets, etc) but at the same time is in a street (Calle del Forno) that is very quiet and peaceful as it ends on a canal and it’s not a used way. Thanks to the central location of the apartment St. Mark'Square can be reached on foot in 15 minutes and you are within easy walking distance to Ca'd'Oro, Rialto Bridge, and the Fondamenta Nuove on the lagoon, where you can catch the Vaporetto to the islands of Murano and Burano.

At Campo di Santa Sofia (nearly 3 minutes on foot) there is a gondola service (at a very cheap fee) that provides a ferry service across Gran Canal to reach the old famous market of Rialto, where you can buy typical food to prepare tradition dishes of the Venetian cuisine (you can find a lot of lagoon fishes, fruits and vegetables and so on).

How to reach the house

The house is easy to reach from the airport Marco Polo, car parking situated in Piazzale Roma and Tronchetto, and the train station Santa Lucia.
1) From Marco Polo Airport: there is a ferry service called “Alilaguna” that connects the city center and the airport. To easily reach the apartment you can get off at the stop “Fondamenta Nuove” and reach the house as indicated on the map that we provide after the booking (10 minutes walk, 2 bridges to cross); another way you can reach the apartment from the airport is using the bus to Piazzale Roma, then follow the instructions below.
2) From parking in Piazzale Roma and Tronchetto: (from Tronchetto reach Piazzale Roma using the People Mover service or the ferry boat n°2 direction Piazzale Roma). From Piazzale Roma take the Vaporetto (the typical Venetian ferry) number 1, direction of San Marco, stopping at Ca'd'Oro (no bridge to cross to reach the house). It is also easy to reach on foot, as you just need to go straight on Strada Nuova and turn right at Ca’ D’Oro (20 minutes walking, some bridges to cross). Is also really simple to reach the house on foot: go straight on in "Strada Nuova" and turn in the street of Ca' d'Oro (nearly 20 minutes of walk).
3) Form Santa Lucia train station: take the “Vaporetto” number 1, direction of San Marco, stopping at Ca'd'Oro (no bridge to cross to reach the house). Is also really simple to reach the house on foot: go straight on in "Strada Nuova" and turn in the street of Ca' d'Oro (nearly 20 minutes of walk).
Any of these solutions can be substituted with the Venetian Water Taxi Service.

Great Property
This apartment was fantastic, whether it's your first time in Venice or your umpteenth. Super clean and you're basically getting a home. Street it is on is quiet and super safe. And the conveniences are amazing - it's literally next to a pub, restaurant, and fruit store for your basic needs and entertainment (but you never hear the noise), and also within walking distance is the grocery store, pharmacy, the dock to grab a boat, coffee shop for breakfast, and the one and only McDonald's in Venice. Of course you're also right next to all the attractions too but it is also easy to explore more of the island too. Only recommendation is for the host to deal with the trash/recycling: Venice has very strict trash policies and rightly so (and Venice is suuuper clean), but if you're trying to catch a boat off the island you shouldn't have to worry about having to wait for the trashman in the morning or walk your trash through the streets to the trash collection point. Even if you do it the night before, you're inevitably going to have trash right before you go. And you cannot leave your trash outside the apartment on the street. So this is a really inconvenient and unfair ask of guests.

Amazing Location
The apartment was centrally located to water transportation and train station. All attractions were in ealking distance. Shops, restaurants and cafe's right around the corner. Great Irish Pub about 30 yards away. The Irish Pub also has locker storage for suitcases if needed. The host was very responsive and answered all our questions. Highly recommend to anyone traveling to Venice!

This is off the Main Street which helps when you want to relax, sleep, have quiet time away from the crowds. Right around the corner to the left is Trattoria Ca D Oro. Make a reservation for dinner or get in for lunch. Lines every evening and crowds for lunch. Many other places to enjoy. In the Main Street to the right is a prosciutto restaurant that is amazing. The boards of food are picture worthy. The property is clean and is just off the water, yet you can walk to the water in 30 seconds. I would stay here again.

This was out first close experience of Cannaregio area (having previously stayed in Santa Croce) and we've really liked the area. The flat is very conveniently located on the quiet street, but close to everything: shops, supermarket, cafes, Vaporetto stop Ca' d'Oro and ferry stop Fondamente Nova from which you can catch boats to everywhere in the lagoon. The place itself is very compact, but does have all of the necessary amenities and well equipped kitchen. Small amount of sunlight (the flat is on the ground floor on a narrow street) might be an issue for some, but it does create a "Venetian atmosphere". If I could make any suggestion for improvement, I would recommend in the "TV room / kitchen" part of the flat to have more options for lighting (e.g. localised small lamps etc), as the currently exiting light is very bright, without any dimming options. But otherwise it is a lovely space, gives a real "homely feel", like you are staying in the friends house, rather then in some faceless hotel. The communication with hosts was excellent, quick and very informative. Meeting and greeting by Luca was very welcoming and efficient. Thank you very much for our lovely holidays in Venice, we've enjoyed it very much!

Cute authentic and right where I wanted to be.
The Cannaregio region was better than I expected. We walked everywhere. We were near the Fondamente Nove for the airport-Venice water bus trip. We were even closer to the vaporetto stop Ca' d'Oro to travel within Venice. And the restaurants! But stay away from Strada Nuova restaurants, (although it is the main drag) and look for the smaller ones in the alleys. They were worth it. As for the place: my sis and I loved it. Separated into two small apartments, but rented as one place. Did we cook? No, but we could have. The 2 bathrooms, the little courtyard, the proximity to everything? And being met by Luca so that he could guide us to the place? What can I say? I would have stayed here for a month, with no qualms. But you have to love small places, since it is compact. We did. The communication with the owner and property managers was great. We corresponded with three different people, all of whom were quick to respond, friendly and helpful. Re: property location. It was perfect. It's in a lively neighborhood with shops, a Coop supermarket, restaurants, and taverns. It's a 1 min walk to the vaporetto stop on the Grand Canale (you won't have to drag your luggage up and down stairs), 2 min walk to the gondole traghetto, and a 7 min walk to the vaporetto that goes to Murano/Burano. 15-20 min walk to major tourist sites. Re: apartment features/amenities (Meridiana apartment). Comfortable, clean and simple. It was nice to have fast, reliable internet and the terrace.

Après un premier séjour, fin juin, avec deux adolescentes, nous sommes retournés dans ce logement fin août avec deux autres petits enfants car le lieu nous avais parfaitement convenu : proximité du centre, commerces, calme. Les enfants ont été ravis.
