What a fantastic hotel. We had a personal issue that we were dealing with when we arrived at the hotel and the reception staff were absolutely incredible to us. They were so kind, patient and professional and helped us to figure out a solution. Absolutely amazing people. The room was absolutely beautiful. Very spacious and really comfy bed. We were right in the heart of everything Venice. Loads of places to eat close by and loads of things to see. The next morning we had a delicious breakfast in the dining room. Excellent selections and very reasonable. We will stay at no other hotel in Venice except Hotel Montecarlo. Again, you could not ask for better or nicer people than everyone at the hotel

The great location and friendly staff made this hotel a good pick. The upgraded room was in the “Annex” which was on the third floor with no elevator. Only problem was there was no shower water at 9:00 am.

5 minute walk from the water taxis. I think the breakfast could’ve offered more fruit. But if you decide to take a speed water taxi the hotel can book one and pickup was right at the bridge right outside the hotel. Very pricey, but if you need to be somewhere quick it’s nice! The staff are super friendly and very helpful!

The location was perfect. Close to everything. The service was outstanding. Stefano at the reception made our check in very special. I don't tend to remember many names, but you can't forget someone like him. I would totally recommend this place. It's a steal for the money. The rooms were at another location, I didn't mind. No elevator to go up or down with your luggage. If you look at these things to give a negative review, or simply not choose this place, you will be missing out on a very nice hotel.

Hotel Monte Carlo just OK
Location is a 5 star with great walking distance to St Mark's square. The hotel itself wasn't great. The beds were comfortable, the room decore was old and "vintage". The shower water temperature was hot one minute, then cold the next. We ate the breakfast a couple of days but eggs were runny and bacon undercooked/fatty. We elected to skip it on our other 2 mornings. We asked a front desk person if he had change for a 20. He was so annoyed, and respond "you Americans, do you think I am a bank?" Staff in the buffet and bar area were always nice. I think I would choose another hotel option if we ever went back to Venice

Check in was good. We found out we were in an annexed building not attached to the hotel which was fine. The room was quiet, except noise outside the window in a back alley was extremely loud at times (loud conversations at 4am, workers seemed to start loudly around 7-730am) in the morning. Bed was comfortable.
