Ca' Leonessa is a recently (2010) restored luxury apartment located in the heart of Venice. It is a short walk from the bus and railway stations. Due to its superb location all the sites of Venice are either within walking distance or a couple of stops on the vaporetto. In the furnishing of the apartment the prime consideration has been to create a comfortable and welcoming oasis for you after a busy days sight seeing in magical Venice.

The living room (which overlooks the canal and the Campo San Barnaba) features two Natuzzi sofa's (one double sofa bed) a Linn sound system and HD television with DVD/CD player.

Both bedrooms are bright and airy with comfortable beds and have plenty of hanging/storage space in the bespoke wardrobes. Bedroom 1 has a luxurious double bed with fine linens and traditional Venetian fabrics. Bedroom 2 has two single beds. Both bathrooms are fully tiled with power showers.

The kitchen has been hand built and features dining for 6.

A great home in Venice
The property was great—well-equipped, amazing location. It was easy to walk to any attractions we wanted, and there’s a market ( floating!) on your doorstep with bakery and grocery just around the corner. Cute place but…
Bathrooms smelled like stagnant water. Some black mold near the grout on the main shower and ceiling. That smell continued all 3 days we were there, the biggest drawback. Two college dorm refrigerators one had a small freezer that was frozen shut. It needs to be defrosted, because it’s not usable. Beds were comfortable, bedrooms were nice. Due to the humidity and only a washing machine, it took 36 hours to dry a small load of laundry. The apartment is located across from a wine bar so if you are a light sleeper you won’t get to sleep until after midnight.

4 Adults stayed in this apartment in a charming section of Venice. Just steps to the Leonardo Museum and the famous bridge of fists. This is a perfect location to be Immersed in a local neighborhood. We felt safe always. We walked the narrow walkways late into the night and before the sun came up. We all missed being in Venice when it came out time to leave. Hoping we can come back and stay in this wonderful apartment again one day.

We had stayed in this apartment in 2018. It remains a excellent location, easy access to water bus, grocery store , restraunts & shops . The atmosphere felt more Venetian than touristy . We had a free issues with plumbing, but the owner was prompt to have it assessed . Do read the apartment manual, it’s helpful if issues that may arise. We hope this apartment will be available again on our next trip.

The BEST location!
Property was perfect for 2 couples or a family. 2 full bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living room. It has an unusual setup as you go in the front door and up a narrow flight of stairs. When you go into the apartment there is an entry and All other rooms are off that. So there is a door to the kitchen and one to the living room, as well as each nedroom. It worked well for us as we could get up early and go into another room and close the door so it was quiet for those still sleepingAll overlooking a fairly quiet yet lovely canal and close to nice little squares with grocery, restaurants, and gelato! It is in an historic old building. Ireneet is at the Vaporetto stop and assisted us with our luggage to the apartment. The water taxi was unable to take is to the apartment because of high water level so had to drop is at the stop. Check in was smooth and checkout simple too.

We were a group of 4 adults. This was my 3rd time in Venice and love to stay in this quiet area away from the busyness of the tourist district. Close to great bakeries and restaurants .Unfortunately this trip we had 2 days of rain so the apartment was very warm and cozy at the end of a dreary day. The 2 bathrooms were very helpful with 4 adults . The unit is very spacious compared to there we have stayed previously . I would definitely recommend!

Location lie great But…..
Our check in process was seamless even though we arrived late evening. The location of the apartment is great for access to St Mark”s Square, restaurants and cafes. We immediately noticed that two of our beds had a stain on the blanket. The bathroom that connected to the bedroom also had a pungent smell. The main issue is that a dryer is listed on the property amenities and I assumed it was an all in one. Unfortunately I was left with a load of wet laundry and an early morning train ride. After communicating with the owner and my contact I was told there is only a drying rack. Also, it would be nice to have shower gel, paper towels, hand towels, coffee filters and a Brita filter pitcher. We literally had liquid soap, bath towels and toilet paper!

We really enjoyed the Dorsoduro neighborhood. It was quiet and felt homey. It was easy to get to, with lots of great restaurants. We just loved wandering the area. We walked to the train station with no problem. The apartment was perfect. We would stay again and tell our friends too!

This property is fine for Venice, as finding an apartment in the Dorsoduro area is not easy. However, be careful about pickpockets, as my laptop was stolen right under me. Also, avoid during peak tourist times, as they also bring bad elements. AC was one of the weaker aspects of this stay, so if you are coming during the peak summertime with temperatures in the 28-34C range, avoid this apartment. It took a whole day to cool down enough for us to even stay indoors. The location is great as St. Marks Square is only a 20-minute walk.

Check in process was straight forward and easy with great communication from our host. The location is nice and on one of the more picturesque canals. Lots of restaurants and bars near by and walking from this location is easy. Apartment is well equipped and has AC. Is a lovely place to stay.

Beautiful apartment in beautiful location!
Beautiful apartment in a great location on a picturesque and quiet canal. We were met at the apartment upon arrival and given the keys with a quick tour of the apartment. The apartment is nicely furnished, very clean and the kitchen is well-stocked. The washing machine was greatly appreciated but there is no electric dryer although a drying rack is provided to air dry your clothes. We definitely enjoyed our stay at the apartment and had the added bonus of being in Venice at graduation time for the nearby university. We got to see and witness some of the traditions of Venetian graduates...floral tiaras and chants of "dottore" shouted in huddles around the graduates. It was a very memorable and fun stay in Venice!

Wonderful experience
My family and I had a wonderful time in Venice. The apartment was comfortable and clean. Loved the location! Right by the canal and all the shops and restaurants. An added bonus for us, It was a 15min walk to the bus stop that took us to the airport. Communication with the host was very responsive and helpful- thank you!
