This quaint, lodge-like facility is great! It’s quiet, up in the hills, and a great place to view the Northern Lights on a clear night! Less than a 10 minute drive to downtown Vík. Breakfast was great with several options. The room was cozy and clean. Definitely recommend!

Large comfortable hotel aimed at coach parties
A large hotel geared up for coach tours. Rooms are large and very comfortable. Had we know about the large number of coach tours staying we would have looked for a smaller hotel as Breakfast was chaos.

This property was a great hotel just off the main road. The food served in the dining room was delicious, locally purchased and cooked by the staff. Both the food and hotel room were very reasonable in price by Iceland standards. The hotel was centrally licated to all the activities in the area. The one draw back was the TV and apparently the whole ststem was intermittent (more not) our whole stay. Checkin was fast and easy since it was prepaid. Parking was easy.

My husband and I are traveling along the ring road. This place was perfect for our one night stay. Comfy bed and a hot shower. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had variety. We were also able to see the auroras.

Here’s your review for Hótel Dyrhólaey: Hótel Dyrhólaey – A Highlight of Our Iceland Trip Let’s start with the location—Hótel Dyrhólaey is perched atop a hill, offering an incredible view of the Dyrhólaey coast. If you’re visiting during Northern Lights season, there’s a high chance of seeing them here. We were lucky enough to witness this magical event with fellow travelers from around the world, which made the experience truly unforgettable. The hotel served as the perfect home base for our trips to Jökulsárlón and Diamond Beach, with an extra day spent exploring the Vík area. It’s conveniently located near gas stations, restaurants, grocery stores, and other key attractions, making it easy to explore the surroundings. The staff was friendly and helpful, and both check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. The hotel also has a large dining area where they offer a breakfast buffet with many delicious options. Our room was warm and cozy, with a comfortable bed and a fully equipped bathroom. Everything was clean, neat, and well-maintained. We highly recommend Hótel Dyrhólaey and will definitely book again on our next trip to Iceland.

Nice hotel along the coast
Nice hotel with standard accommodations suitable for couples or groups. Lots of room here and a great buffet for breakfast. They also offered dinner. About a 10-15 min drive to Reyjsfanara beach.
