I needed to change my reservation and at first the phone kept ringing and then was disconnected. Finally got someone on the phone, who was rude so then had to call the hotels.com number. They were nice but couldn’t get the hotel to pick up the phone so said she would send an email. When we got there the woman at the desk was again rude, called the manager and the manager finally said we could have a room. The first room had not been cleaned, they changed our room. The new room had something disgusting on the rug and I had to put a towel down. This place is just not ok.

This is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed, when I first walked in I was greeted by the smell of wet smoke. You can hear people talking while they walk up and down the halls to get to their room as the only that separates you from them is a thin piece of glass and a thin piece of plastic, and a privacy shade. The bedroom was by the noisy hallway. The "kitchenette" had 2 microwaves but no toaster. The hand soap in the bathroom was replaced with shampoo. I asked if extra towels on Saturday, by the time I checked out Tuesday, I still hadn't received those towels. I would say the view was wonderful, if it weren't for the people who decided to attached their trump flag to the balcony above us.

Very nice place to stay. For an oceanfront room, it was a decent place to stay for the price. Our room was clean but it smelled bad. There was a restaurant below our room and they blared music throughout the evening. Otherwise, we have no complaints and would likely stay there again.

Great property and very friendly staff. It was a great stay except for the pot smoking in the room next to us. Its so sad to see walkers letting their dogs crap all over your grass and bench setting. You should fence it off.

Property is in dire need of upkeep and renovation. Obvious that the owner is not inclined to reinvest in the property to create a better experience for his client. Must be of the mindset that due to the location he can continue to squeeze the profits from the facility without continuing improvements. Would not stay again and would not recommend.

This hotel is very dated. Looks like it was made in the 50’s with very minimal upgrades. Walls are pealing, elevator even worse. Stains are everywhere in the building. Hotub said 100 degrees but it was like warm bath water.Disappointed with all I paid.

My wife and I have been coming there for years multiple times a year. The last few times we have came the rooms have not been clean. This last time that we came, our first room had a broken bed and it wasn’t clean. They moved us to another room and it wasn’t clean. Toothpaste on the walls in the bathroom Stains on the bedsheets and the floor with trash all over it. Sad to see because we did love that place.

Don't waste your money. Go somewhere else
The pictures of this hotel is when it was new. This hotel is dirty and old and they havent done anything to keep it up. Our room floor was dirty and needed sweeping and mopping. The balcony was dirty and the chairs were disgusting.The overall hotel needs a good update and painting. We spent almost $1,000 for our room. The front desk personel was unhelpful and lazy. Oh! You cant get room service for 24 hours so if we had asked for the floors to be swept and mopped it would have been at lease 24 hours. We didn't think we were at the right place when drove up they need to change the online pictures. I would NEVER dtay here again!

Fantastic location
It's a fantastic location. The view from the Balcony spectacular and loved the proximity to the boardwalk. The check in was odd as they sent me to an occupied room on the first go around, but corrected easily enough. The rooms/suites are spacious and the kitchenette perfect. The room I stayed in needed some TLC, but sounds like they are in the process of updating the hotel. All in all an okay place to stay!

The Barclay is ok. It's starting to show it's age and a few things in the room could of used some repairs. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. Free parking was across the street. There is not even a continental breakfast. The restaurant inside the hotel is only open for lunch and dinner and it is India cuisine. The Sunnyside restaurant is the closest and best place for breakfast. We paid $38 for two entrees. It's about 2 blocks away.
