Superb "Inn Style" accommodation. Above a local pub so access to food really easy. Cosy well kept room with fridge, very comfy bed and clean bathroom.
Really close to the main town, shops, places to eat.

Disliked: Room comfort
I stayed three nights and each night woke uo 3-4am because of the cold. No heating and i needed all clothes to go through the night. Very unpleasant and not providing the rest I needed during my business trip.
Not sure if i use the app wrong, but mo ody reacted to my message asking for longer heating.
The room was spacious and clean.

The hotel was good and excellent value. However, with limited mobility I found the stairs almost impossible as was an area of the courtyard.

Good allocation, excellent staff, decor tired but clean, no on site parking
Staff are super friendly and helpful!!! it is old so you have to expect things don't work like new (part of the charm of the place) only stayed 1 night but would recommend. would have loved to try the pub but we were tired from travel
The room was lovely, newly updated, but the hotel required a little update.

Delightful stay
The welcome was good, and assistance was given with taking our luggage up the stairs. Room 2 is a good size with an amazingly comfortable large bed. The towels are large, and the toiletries good enough. Best of all, they are not attached to the wall. Great hot water in a bath or shower, with a safety mat. Fridge, tea, coffee, kettle and biscuits. Nice hanging space and hooks as well. Two issues that needs to be dealt with...the stairs are narrow and steep with poor lighting. The latter just needs adjusting. Check in is at 3.00 when the pub opens. It's not clear how to manage an early check-in or leaving luggage as the accommodation has changed hands. Some further information is needed for guests who booked under the previous ownership. I'd stay at the Coachnans Arms again...and again. Oh, lots of eating places nearby!
This was our second stay here and it is comfortable and Luke was very accommodating and we left our luggage a bit earlier than check in time which was a big help. Our breakfast was a hamper with granola, croissant and fresh orange juice. There was a small fridge and tea and coffee. Bed was comfortable overlooking the beer garden

Very quiet, clean, and comfortable room. Slept well after a long walk. Steep stairs, which I’m perfectly fine with, but to be aware of if it’s a challenge for you!
Convenient for a wide choice of places to eat in Wallingford
Seemed a bit busy/disorganised during the booking and payment process so I was a little worried but it seemed this was due to a change of management and all was fine. If fact, they were very helpful in amending our booking and carrying luggage etc. The room was quaint and quirky, quite quiet and comfortable.
Very nice and cozy bedroom at the top floor of the building. everything was clean and cozy! Surrounding area does not allow you to park.
Check out: no instruction on where to leave the keys...
Overall, I would very recommend it!
picked the smallest room which was just big enough, but had a great view of the small rose garden. good location but no onsite parking, staff was wonderful. Breakfast cost 12 pounds but was worth it.
The Coachmakers Arms, or CAT to the locals, proved to be an excellent location for a stopover. The building is very old and full of character. Our room was at the top of a flight of stairs that was located in the attic. The room was spacious with a separate room for the sizeable bathroom. Dogs are permitted and our Golden Retriever was welcomed by the locals and landlady.
The bar is small but full of character and atmosphere, the day of our stay the weekly quiz was being held. The bar was packed which is obviously a good sign. We chose to locate the small garden out the back and enjoyed a selection of beverages before retiring for a good night's sleep.
If you are visiting Wallingford or the surrounding area we would recommend staying at The Coachmakers Arms. Remember this is an old building full of character so enjoy the experience that many before will have done.
This pub accommodation was in the perfect location for our visit to Oxford and family. The parking is several blocks away but with easy access. There are a lot of narrow steps to get to the room. The beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, there is no air conditioning, but the windows open and that helps. It is above the street and pub so can get noisy and there are bright lights outside the room. We would stay there again.
