Nice Hotel

Village hotel Warrington is a nice hotel and it's short walk to city centre with good choice of restaurants, pubs and cafes. It's own restaurant is alright but the food choice is limited and maybe a bit expensive. Rooms are clean and comfortable, there's gym and swimming pool worth visiting and a café inside the hotel, good breakfast, free parking, overall a good choice of hotel in the area, certainly recommended.

In my thirty years of staying in hotels for work probably my worse experience and I have never complained in my life before. 2star at best, dinner was no better than a Witherspoons and breakfast was a disaster. I had to ask along with three other guests to refill the buffet and when eventually they did my hash brown was still frozen inside along with cold beans. I request some form of compensation for this appalling experience after paying £213 for one night stay. Outrageous

This hotel is a good example of how, with the right marketing budget, you can create an image that doesn’t reflect the reality. Normally, we’re not fans of posting negative reviews, but since we, as a family, stayed for a week in a family room, we would like to share our experiences in the hope that others can benefit from them. The facilities seemed promising, after all, it was a 4-star rated hotel. However, nothing could be further from the truth. The focus seemed to be mainly on secondary activities like a gym and a pool that was open to everyone, rather than on the hotel’s primary offerings. The gym and pool were fine, generally clean apart from some minor maintenance issues. The hotel room itself was not clean, with common issues like a lot of hair in the shower and bath drains, the room hadn’t been vacuumed, the beds weren’t made, and the number of towels varied daily. The fact that the heating didn’t work on the first day (hence the extra space heater) and that there was no hot water one afternoon due to a malfunction, we accepted as isolated incidents. However, other reviews suggest that these issues occur regularly. We really got a motel feeling from this place, definitely not a 4-star experience. At best, it felt like a 3-star hotel, barely. After sharing this feedback with the staff (who were generally friendly and helpful), the situation regarding housekeeping unfortunately did not improve. Skip this hotel if you're looking for a relaxing vacation
