About this property

Step back in time and relive.the 1840's in this beautifully preserved cottage.

Once the home of Governor Jean-Batiste LeMoyne Sieur de Bienville’s high interpreter’s son, Jean-Batiste Andre LaFleur, the tri-plex Creole cottage with a center hall was a place of elegance and charm. Surrounded by private gardens and an ornamental circular pond, the house exuded a sense of history and grandeur.

The elegant French doors, hardwood floors, board & baton shutters with cast iron hinging, chair rails, and beamed ceilings created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Each room was adorned with exquisite chandeliers, adding a touch of old-world glamour to the space. The three well-appointed bedrooms with private baths offered a sense of luxury and comfort, making it a truly special place to call home.
The house was said to be haunted by the ghost of a young girl who had once lived there, adding a sense of mystery to the already intriguing place.

As Chef John explored the house and its surroundings, he couldn’t help but be drawn into the stories and legends that surrounded it. He uncovered hidden rooms and forgotten relics, each one adding to the rich tapestry of history that had unfolded within those walls.

But as Chef John delved deeper into the past, he discovered a bittersweet truth. The house had been a sanctuary for the LaFleur family for generations, a place of joy and sorrow, love and loss. And as he uncovered the final secrets of the house, he realized that sometimes letting go of the past was the only way to truly move forward.

In the end, Chef John bid farewell to the tri-plex Creole cottage with a mixture of sadness and gratitude. The memories and stories he had uncovered would stay with him forever, a testament to the enduring spirit of a place that had once been home to Governor Jean-Batiste LeMoyne Sieur de Bienville’s high interpreter’s son. And as he walked away, he knew that the house would always hold a special place in his heart, a reminder of the beauty and complexity of the past.

Y'all come, spend some time with us and experience a world that once was, a place full of mystery and beauty, a place like none other, only at Lafleur Guest House.
