To start with a positive, the staff were very helpful and friendly, excellent service. This is an older hotel that has unfortunately been let to run down. Our room was very tired and had not been upgraded in a long time. It was quite noisy and you could here everyone else around you, and a lot of light coming in around the windows and doors. In saying that, the bed was comfortable and the buffet breakfast was very good, a good selection and definitely helped me give them an extra star. If you are on a budget stay here, its safe and in a pretty handy location.

In many ways a great spot good transport conections, easy walk to CBD, several restaurant options close by, good basic breakfast. Unfortunately earthquake risk notice on front door & road works both nights I stayed. Premises showing wear & tear in room & bathroom.

I have had the pleasure of being introduced last year around this time to stay with a close friend, we dinned out came back met the receptionist, slept comfortably and a primo breakie the next morning, absolutely 5 star for my wonderful experience not too mention feel very safe at this very co sy hotel :)
