Nice suite, indoor entrance off living room and separate outdoor entrance. Plenty of hot water, comfortable bed, satellite TV, very quiet place. Met expectations with one exception: internet conked out Saturday pm sometime and as of checkout Sunday midday still not up. Probably router, but nobody onsite to do anything about it. Checkin was electronic and slightly bumpy; didn't get promised email with door codes until after requesting them well after promised. I understand technology can reduce costs but it sometimes reduces services too.
Really cute property with well appointed rooms. Very cozy and quaint and impeccably clean.

Beautiful outside. BUT. Only accessible with a key code. NOT STAFF ON DUTY AT ALL. NO GUESTS, just us. My wife was freaked out by the totally empty facility with NO SERVICES. And they refused us a refund. Stay away from this place.
Nice big room. No AC installed yet. Room was 78 degrees when I got there. Lots of goodies in the room. Hot water heating plate is used to make instant coffee. Tv channels available leave something to desire. Clean-self check-in. Owners responded to my text on temp right away. Shared kitchen in main area. It’s my second stay there. Not a lot of options in Westcliffe but this is probably the best for the $$.
I was in town for a very short period of time, but the Lamp Post Lodge was perfect. Easy access and everything worked flawlessly. The views are reason enough to come back!
Place was very comfy and quiet. The lobby was beautiful. Loved having the refrigerator to put my things in to keep cold. Only things that could have made it perfect would be mini refrigerator in the room and a business center with computer an printer would have been such a big help.
Booked first time in error and told we could not get a refund within 10 minutes of booking even in booking 3 weeks in advance.
The second booking we did, Hotels.com did not give us checking in time, we called the hotel many times, no one answers, left message on voice mail, still no one replied.
Got email with access code at 3:20 pm.
The lodge was very clean and well kept. With that said, given what they charge they offered basically nothing outside of a place to sleep:
- No water available other than tap or the half-jug downstairs to make your own coffee
- Only coffee was "instant" in the room (and all they left in my room was decaf), or a standard pot downstairs to make yourself if you want
- No fridge in the room
- No breakfast available (free or otherwise)
- No ice available except 3-4 cubes that were in the shared refrigerator downstairs
- Check in instructions said to use the "screened in" windows to cool the room but my room had no screen on the window
- No one onsite to offer any type of service
Despite all this they charge a "property fee" on top of the nightly rate, not sure what that is supposed to include given they offer less amenities than any hotel I've stayed in?
We had a brief stay overnight and the accommodations were both convenient and roomy. We were worried about a lack of coffee maker but the electric kettle with instant coffee was easy to navigate and flavorful. No staff were there during our stay - we arrived late and departed early. The area is quite beautiful, nestled in a valley by mountains.
