Omg where do I start - The resort and swimming pools are great but unfortunately that's where it stops. For the price you pay the staff are all kids that are inexperienced and not really sure if they are a little rude or just poorly managed? Maybe both. One of the nights we had evacuation alarms go off 4 times through the night waking everyone and there children up and tbh it was scary. I spoke to reception in the morning and asked what was going on last night? Her response was what do you mean? I said all the evacuation alarms? She said that always happens do be alarmed 😳 It would have been nice to be told this at check in. Anyway apart from the rude young staff that never knew anything about any questions my partner and I had a great holiday with visiting Airlie beach, the beautiful great barrier Reef, Whitehaven beach and Hamilton island. It probably stay elsewhere next time though.

Had an enjoyable 4 nights and found the place clean and comfortable. The pools are fantastic. I was apprehensive about the dining options but the food tasted absolutely amazing at the two restaurants. We had one night where the emergency alarms went off at least 5 times that we heard. However when asleep it is hard to hear the alarms inside the room. Which wouldn’t be good in an emergency. Staff were all friendly and helpful. It would be great if there was another option of getting to and from the island to Airlie beach and Hamilton island though. Especially in the evenings. We missed out on one of our nights due to ferry leaving ten minutes prior to arrival of the bus after our flight and had to find accommodation elsewhere at last minute. Would totally return to daydream island and absolutely adored the aquariums

Tidy, clean, well maintained. Two dining options, both are very good. So many options for activities and with a choice of several pools you never feel crowded. Lots of bar options and the aquariums are amazing. Great room and views. Transport was very well managed and the staff very friendly and accommodating. We loved it.

Loved every bit of it. The transfer from Hamilton island to the daydream island location is a dogs breakfast. Very limited information on this and also can not rent a cart at the airport.

Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff who make you feel very welcome. Good array of activities that are fun as well as educational. Various tasty food options (Dine in and takeaway) that can also be delivered right to your room, and the living reef and native wildlife are fantastic. The property itself is lovely and the rooms are spacious with very comfy (new) beds. Generous amount of towels given and nice bathroom amenities. We received an upgrade which was a lovely surprise. Beautiful pools and the underwater aquarium is amazing. Buffet breakfast is pretty standard but has a nice view of the fish and aquariums. Few issues - 1. We arrived at 11am and had given prior notice we would be early, early checkin isn’t guaranteed which is fine however our room wasn’t ready until almost 3pm which is an hour after the guaranteed check in time of 2pm! 2. One end of the island looks like a derelict ghost town - everything is closed, the pool is out of order and generally looked rundown and forgotten about. 3. Room service is for nighttime only 4. No real lunch options available which is annoying since you can’t pop down the road to go get food. 5. Coffee pods not replenished daily. The Infinity restaurant is an absolute standout - the food is incredible and lovely staff there. Highly recommend eating here!!

We loved our stay at Daydream. Great to relax, and also to learn about the reef from the onsite marine biologists. Theyre still rebuilding a little after the cyclone, doesn't impede the quality of your holiday.
