60th Birthday Party

Pros: Plenty of parking a short walk into Bowness, loveyly views from the hotel. Bedroom was small but cosy and clean.
I couldn't fault the staff not only for the party, we stayed two nights and they were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious a good selection. the three course meal we had for the party was excellent especially with the amount of guests we were all served quickly.

Great staff, peaceful location.

Pros: The staff were great, the location was peaceful. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. Good car parking.
Cons: The shower in our room was a mixer tap over the bath, the pressure was not great. An upgrade to a power assisted shower would be an improvement.
Location: Good base. We recommend the circular "walkers ticket" Bowness to Ambleside, Wray Castle and 4 mile walk along the western shore to Claife Viewpoint.
Very nice hotel and very peaceful. This is a good location to tour the surrounding area. Very helpful staff. Rooms clean and comfortable. Nice choice for cooked breakfast (not just "full English"). Walking to Bowness is possible but there is quite a steep road for the return journey so you may need to use your car to travel into the centre of the town / ferry pier (pay & display car park). We chose the "standard rooms" which were rather compact but absolutely fine. If you want more room or a view towards Windermere consider upgrading.

Fabulous place!

What a fabulous find! Conveniently located with a short walk into town. We stayed in one of the renovated rooms to the front of the hotel which was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Supplied with filter coffee, a range of teas, hot chocolate and homemade shortbread biscuits which were replenished daily. Nothing was too much trouble for Anna, Sandra, Greg and the rest of the team at The Ryebeck. Very impressed with the standard of breakfast and the food as a whole. Chef is doing a wonderful job! Our only downside was we wish we'd have booked a longer stay! ☺

Gem n windermere

Pros: Everything
Beautiful hotel in wonderful ground, staff polite and welcoming. Rooms spotless with comfy beds. Lovely breakfast. Would highly recommend.
