I didn’t like the guy who booked us in he said our room was on the ground floor but we had to go up a flight of stairs i don’t call that a ground floor room would not stay there again
Very handy being across from Windermere train and bus station. We could get around the lakes so easily. Hotel was good, lits of character. Breakfast wss good. Lovely view of the lake from our room.
When booking the hotel it said it was in Bowness. After searching around for over an hour the hotel was in Windermere which we didn’t want. The hotel is extremely run down & smells. The staff at breakfast were lovely couldn’t fault them at all
Hotel nice and central to railway station and bus routes around the area. If parking they charge £6 per day that is not advised when you book.

Ok hotel
Good location for exploring Windermere and surrounding area. Booths supermarket just acrross the road and bus stop to get further The Lakes. Room clean but would benefit with a bit of renovation- creaking floorboards, wallpaper peeling off in some places.
Good breakfast, self service, choice of cereal and English breakfast items.
I would recomend improvement in service. The receptionist recited the greeting formula on my arival giving the impression he is not interested in and just done the job; simmilar the guy in breakast room- you sit, eat and go! Quick!
As a guest I would prefer to feel looked after with a bit of a care..

Hotel decor a bit dated, but perfectly adequate and an enjoyable stay.
Firstly the hotel location on your map is wrong , tne hotel is not on bowness, it's at Windermere which is not we're I wanted to stay , I always book hotels in bowness , so it took me a long tone to actually find it after driving around the location you are pin pointing, I was with my elderly parents who found it very difficult to leave the hotel as it was at the top of a hill and walking to the lake , which was 30 minutes, you stayed it is 8 minutes, was not an option so it did spoil our stay there , the bar was not always serving food only breakfast and the room were clean but very scuffy and in need of a paint job , I never normally complain about your hotels but this was by far the worst ive stayed in
Property is on shabby side with long corridors to meander through to get to the room and no elevators making hauling luggage awkward. But rooms are clean and functional. Staff not too friendly. But location is prime, next to train station on top of hill and easy to walk to town and bus, making it a good place to stay if arriving on trains.
The hotel was acceptable but not luxury . The building needs updating the windows are so drafty there were instructions of how to use the heating in rooms so when it didn’t work we asked at reception to be told it’s only on in winter u can’t have it on which was said with an attitude by the member of staff he then provided us with a heater instead . The breakfast was passable but was cold. The hotel restaurant is a cafe next door which was lovely but not a restaurant! The hotel said it had parking but told us on arrival u have to pay per day . There was supposed to be a games room and a garden again not there . The hotel stated close to the lake it was a 30 min walk down hill then hike bk up hill . Again all this would be fine if it stated that when advertised .
Grat facilities, great location ,will definitely come back

Ok not enogh options for food at property, cashless is inconvenient, room was fine, staff good & friendly, parking for disabled,£6.00 per nite should ne reduced,
Please don't let some reviews put you off booking at this hotel. We had to book here last-minute, as our guesthouse cancelled our reservation. All I can say is that it was a blessing in disguise. The staff went above and beyond to cater for me and my disabled husband. Showing us the ramping into the hotel and easy access to the lift, which was big enough for one person and the fold up wheelchair. They also allocated a room which meant we didnt have to walk far from the lift, and what a room it was. Plenty of space, very clean, great bed to sleep on and a large bathroom too plus a beautiful view of the lake. I couldnt have asked for any more and we will be back to stay again. Thank you so much for helping us and making our short trip memorable.
