Excellent all around. My family and I loved it. I'd definitely stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone staying in Kamakura. Housekeeping always did an amazing job. Great amenities too.
The hotel is very nice, with comfortable beds and a nice combined shower/ bath bathroom. It is very clean and we appreciated that we could access CNN, Netflix, and You Tube videos using our accounts. The main problem we had was that when we asked if we could check out at 12 noon instead of 11 am today until our son returned from taking our granddaughter to the dermatologist so he could drive us to their home, the front desk staff said that would be an extra 3000 yen charge. We have stayed at this hotel a few times when visiting our son, his wife, and our two young grandchildren in Kamakura over the past 3 years or so. Charging us extra to stay an hour past the usual checkout time is not a good way to show the hotel’s appreciation for our continued business. We will likely return in late March 2025.
On two separate nights we stayed here, the TV remote’s batteries must have been low, as pressing the buttons on the remote didn’t consistently send a command.
We stayed in many hotels this last month in Japan, and the Metropolitan ranked in our top 4. Its location is ideal, being 5 minutes from the station and shopping street, and within 10 minutes walk of 2 temples. The design of the hotel is very soothing—an inner atrium, a comfortable lobby, floral and glass art designs on each floor, and all in warm tints of light browns and creams. We had a basic room and it was well laid out, with very good attention to the details that make for a pleasant stay. We would definitely stay again.
Wonderful stylish hotel that's in an excellent location for exploring Kamakura. Twin room was a larger size than an average tokyo hotel, with comfortable bed, excellent bathroom /shower, great sony smart TV, controllable aircon and in general was spotlessly clean. Numerous restaurants and cafes nearby and only a 3 minute walk to station. Room was not facing the main street and therefore was much quieter than those with the view of the tori gate.
This was a great choice! The hotel was beautiful and well managed and had an excellent location. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the stay very much. We want to choose this hotel again.
We were in the superior room with two beds. Everything was clean, high quality and very spacious. Great amenities, well designed with a variety of lighting options in the room. They refilled complimentary water bottles every day and provided guide books as well. Highly recommended!
Amazing stay with an impeccably designed, ultra clean, and extremely hospitable hotel. The amenities and service is really top notch. If this is typical of a Metropolitan hotel, I'll make sure to look out for them in my future travels. 5 stars.
Very nice property with extreemly good security. Room was very large for Japan (although we did book a larger more expensive room so cannot speak to the size or configuration of the regular rooms). Location is 3 minutes from train station and at the end of the main street and very close to the walking street filled with shops and restaurants. Very clean and comfortable room. Guest self service coin operated laundry room is excellent and TV has a channel that lets you know when the machines are in use or free. There is free coffee in the lobby for guests.
Our stay was wonderful. The hotel was comfortable and the staff was warm and friendly. The room was very spacious and lively. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

There is no bathroom to use in the lobby so you have to pay to use the one downstairs. The bed is super uncomfortable. The room is super small. It just was not for me.
