I expect rental photos to show a place in its best light, but this home was a big letdown. The layout was unchanged, but it felt like we walked into a “before” shot of a house that had seen better days.
The entry rug was filthy, and the door blinds were moldy. For a home sleeping 6-8, the tiny dining table was useless; we couldn’t all eat together. The patio set on the deck was bigger but rusted and caused cuts. The outdoor shower didn’t work at all. The kitchen was unappealing with a rusty oven and missing cabinet doors.
The first-floor powder room was outdated, and the cartoon of a naked woman was an awkward surprise for my young son. All the rugs were dirty and needed deep cleaning. The central AC was broken, so the master bedroom had a jerry-rigged window unit vented out a taped-up balcony door, letting bugs in all night. The AC was plugged into the bathroom, so we couldn’t close that door.
On the positive side, the master and upstairs baths were updated, but we were given minimal towels for a week-long stay with no access to a washer/dryer. Linens were provided, except for the sleep sofa—something not mentioned in the listing. property mgr did kindly bring them the next day.
The fan in the bunk room was broken and dirty. The “living room” was crammed into a small, dingy space that was uncomfortable.
For the rate and fees, we expected more⬤
