I reserved a room when I was on the road about 90 minutes earlier. I checked in after 10 pm. The fairer half of the apparently live in management couple was cordial at check in. However, the other half of the couple was visibly annoyed when I came back to get help with the keyless door system. He was able to use the magnetic card effortlessly to allow me in my room. When I demonstrated my technique, I was once again unable to gain entry. The male manager simply said, you’ll be here all night if you keep doing it that way. I gave no indication, in my mind that I had learned to use this obviously simple system. I was disappointed that, despite the late hour, he didn’t make sure I could regain entry to my room. This caused me to leave my door open when I unloaded and reloaded my car. In the morning, I left my entry door ajar when I went for the free breakfast. Needless to say, I would have felt more comfortable and welcome if the manager had managed a small measure of hospitality for my circumstance. The meaning of hospitality is the ability to make your guests feel comfortable and at ease. Unfortunately, this visit failed in that regard.
