Absolutely 5 star . Hige room very comfortsble and definately worth the money. Breakfast was amazing loafs.to choose from. My only little.gripe was they take 100 pounds as a bond and are supposed to put it back on your card . This took a week this was not explained until i seen my receipt by email . Had to ring and enquire. This should be explained before booking

Great and warm welcome on arrival. No mention of either VIP benefit or room upgrade. I was too tired from travel to challenge/question this. The room was large enough with good amenities and clean. The location of the room did mean it was noisy (room 207), as it was adjacent to the service yard for the hotel. Pleasant staff and a cozy bar with good live music in the evening. Hotel is well placed within walking distance to both parking and the sights of York.

Enjoyable, welcoming and comfortable hotel
As ever the welcome and service and facilities at the Grand didn’t disappoint - unfortunately our room (43) in the modernised wing overlooked delivery part of neighbouring hotel and we were woken at 6 by noisy delivery men (3 lorries in succession) after complaining the hotel dealt with the matter appropriately and relocated us to equivalent room making appropriate compensation for upset and inconvenience. Despite this I would still return as jt remains our hotel of choice in York

Stunning hotel & wonderful staff
Fantastic hotel. From the minute you arrive at the entrance, the staff do everything they can to make you feel special and welcome. The hotel is beautiful and the level of cleanliness is impeccable. We had a beautiful room on the 5th floor with a lovely view. The spa is wonderful too. We will be back!

This is a beautiful property, located conveniently close to the station and a short walk to York's historic city center. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was exceptional. We would happily stay in The Grand, York on any future visit.
