Great location, but do need some improvement!
First, what I booked was the penthouse, but when I arrived, the front desk told me it was not available. Later they explained because the credit system of Expedia did go into the hotels. The staff tried so hard to show me around to find a satisfying alternative. Even though a little bit disappointed, I could live up with the room the suggested. Second, the hot water could really be a issue, only in a certain time in the morning, I could use the hot water, the rest of the day, there was only water.

Good location but poor Hotel
The town is great and that is why this hotel was selected. It is in the heart of it all. The hotel is in need of upgrading and a good scrubbing. The pool area toilets were so bad it made me sick to go in them and I had to go to the desk for help. They did nothing.

This hotel is not what you expect ,the photos are misleading. The only thing good is the staff and that it is close to the central

Good location & friendly staff
We stayed here for 4 nights as part of a longer trip around Mexico. We arrived in the early hours of the morning on the day we were supposed to check in. Although the system couldn't officially check us, in as it was so early, we were still able to use our room even though we had at that point not even paid anything! This was a real bonus. We found the staff very friendly and helpful but they are not multilingual as advertised and you need to speak Spanish. We stayed in the Penthouse Suite which is a slightly overrated description! It is indeed at the top of the building, has a large terrace and great views over the bay but the room has seen better days & could do with updating. The 31inch plasma TV (as advertised) was ancient & we didn't even bother to switch it on, there is no wifi in the room (as advertised) at all & when we asked about internet we were directed to a bench on the first floor next to a pile of laundry as this was supposedly the best wifi spot!! We had no hot water a couple of times as someone seemed to keep turning it off but, when switched on, the water was very hot & the shower a good pressure. The location is very Central and only a 5 minute walk to the beach but this brings with it the inevitable techno music blaring out every night until 6am from various nearby bars. Overall this hotel has seen better days and is overpriced for the amenities and condition of the rooms.

Nice staff, but lots of noise.
I just spent one week here and chose this hotel because of its convenient location in Zihuatanejo Centro. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, but unfortunately much is out of their control. Party goers within the hotel and outside the hotel routinely make noise until very early in the morning making nighttime sleep almost impossible. The hotel is old and internet was sporadic at best making work and emails very difficult. I wish I could rate it higher, but the noise factor within the hotel of partying guests prevents me from doing so.

Ok hotel is for Downtown Zihuatanejo
This hotel is pretty much a common type of an older Mexican, downtown hotel that has seen better days. It's fine if you're just looking for a place to park your luggage and get a few hours of sleep. The huge advantage is the location for exploring central Zihuatanejo and a very close walk to the beach. Don't expect the restaurant to be open except for weekends - maybe. Services such as making collect calls to the USA are out of the question - they simply cannot be done. The hot water is questionable at best. Bed comfort is okay, but certainly not the best. They do strive to make sure the air conditioning works good and do the utmost to keep things as clean as possible. Everything else in the room (phone, TV, lights, etc.) and hotel seemed to work as expected. I was told by some locals that this is one of the best hotels in the downtown area, so I made the best of it. The staff did go out of their way to fix problems I encountered with the air and water, they also gave very good info on where to eat and visit in the area. Very nice and very helpful people - however it pays to know the language! I would recommend it for the price they charge, however I don't think I will return to this hotel.

Nice, cheap center hotel
Excellent stay! We wanted a place near the port as our purpose was to go fishing and we had to go out early. Yes, it is a small hotel. Yes, it is rowdy as there are a lot of bars near. Yes, it is not the fancy Ixtapa crowd. But, if you would like to go cheap, this is the place.

Centro es muy bueno.
Location, location, location. This is vital if you have problems walking getting tired from the heat. Add the fact that there is an elevator, it matters not to me what floor I am on. If you are overheated, simply enjoy the crystal clear waters of the house pool. Location is important to me and this is like the nucleas of so many restaurants and other amenities.

Lied to us and ripped us off
I made a reservation for a premium room for two people. I was told at the desk that I had reserved two rooms. and forced to rent an additional room at the premium price. There was nothing premium about the rooms we were given, they were identical to a standard room rented by one of my friends. The hotel staff is dishonest and the hotel is nothing special. I would definitely not recommend it.

Surprisingly wonderful stay.
We stayed in the penthouse/honeymoon sweet. While the hotel is older and not luxurious the charm of the town, the view from our room and the privacy of the space far outweighed any negatives. The room has two glass walls that can be opened to admit a wonderful Pacific breeze. Any clothing at all is over dressing in this space. The room includes an outdoor patio with seating and a hammock (private). The room and patio overlook the harbor as well as distant beaches, mountains and the town. The outdoor pool was clean, private and masterfully decorated with the pool area designed as a surreal concrete village. The hotel is centrally located with 6 or more restaurants just outside the door, many providing live music. The center of town is a 5 minute walk providing shopping, including fine Mexican silver, handmade shoes, more restaurants, and mucho live music. If you get up early you can watch the fishing trade as locals walk to beach to buy fish directly off the boats as they come in (at 20 peso's per kilo). The staff is friendly and attentive (only Spanish spoken). Highly recommended for the adventurous type.
