Wonderful stay just outside the city centre. Convenient public transportation options (bus just a few minutes from the airport, and large comfortable train that will get you to the city centre in under 20 minutes). Highly suggest exploring the area on the other side of the hotel/train tracks, many good restaurant options around. Felt safe the entire time, and the hotel itself was very cozy and welcoming.

Everthing was great! the food at the restarant and the buffet were amazing. The bed was very confortable and the room clean. It would've been perfect, but THE ONE thing we didn't like happened wehn we left. We needed a taxi to the airport and we were told the hotel has a taxi company the work with, so they called one for us. we were told the taxi accepted card, but once we got to the airport the driver was very insistent that he wanted cash. He even asked for dollars of euros and proceded to lecture us because we didn't have cash, eventhough we were told the taxi accepted card and he the driver had a terminal with him. I WOULD STAY AT ALLEGRA LODGE AGAIN. I would just get an uber next time

Overall stay was fine, but when checking out the lady was really rude and tried to charge us for services we didn’t use. After arguing with her she took them off. Multiple people told me my 3 yr old was free to eat breakfast but when we checked out she charged us for breakfast and told me they did charge a fee for kids. I honestly think she was just trying to get more money out of us. Their policy clearly states under 6 yrs old eats free. She also made a comment that I took too much food. It’s a buffet, I only filled one plate. So rude.

Hotel Allegra is in Kloten, about a half hour outside the city. A metro station is a 5 minute walk which we found very convenient. Restaurants were not within easy reach. We bought a daily train pass to go to meeting places in the city for tours we booked. The hotel has an older section and a new one. Our family of 4 occupied a quadruple room in the older section. The room was clean and not cramped but lighting was poor and there were not enough electrical outlets for us to use to recharge our phones and tablets. Beddings and the bathroom were clean. The hotel staff were friendly though a couple were not too helpful. Overall our stay at the hotel was okay. In retrospect we should have booked a hotel in the city which would have made it easier and faster for us to get to sights and eating places during our short 3-night stay.
