This was an enjoyable trip in a small, comfortable bus. The driver, Rebecca, was very easy to find, she gave some nice commentary as we drove, and we got to see a little of the countryside along the way. The drive to the caves was about 30 minutes. Once we got to the caves, there were bathrooms available. A guide took us through the caves which took about 35-40 minutes. She gave good explanations about what we were seeing and the glow worms were interesting to see. I have difficulty walking but the path through the caves is all on boards with a non slip mat on top of the boards. We were given lanterns to use as we walked. There are railings throughout the caves except for about 10 feet in one flat spot. There are a few stairs but there are railings. This was a worthwhile trip to do once, especially since the glow worms are apparently only found in this part of the world.

Everything about this tour was enjoyable and Rebecca, our tour guide, was the best. She gave us a ton of information about the history of the local area and the 30 minute ride in a very comfortable van was through beautiful green mountains. The glow worms in the cave exceeded my expectations and were truly amazing to see.

The van that picked us up was so nice and also roomy. The driver was very informative and knowledgeable about the area. The lady that gave the tour knew so much about the history and made it fun. The caves were amazing and you could get a close up view of the glow worms.

It was a great value tour that allowed us to see the highlights of the Bay of Islands! Our guide, Rob, was very kind and provided various explanations and suggestions, making the half-day tour very enjoyable. The glowworm cave was also incredibly beautiful, so if you visit the Bay of Islands, I highly recommend joining this tour.

Chris was a great guide. Very informative and funny. Loved the stories and the drive from the Paihia town to the caves was quick and safe. Caves were full of glowworms! Much better than other glowworm caves I’ve visited.

Excellent tour!!! The Glow Worm caves are an unforgettable experience and worth the cost on their own. Seeing the waterfall is an added bonus. I liked the length of the tour as it allowed for shopping in port beforehand. As an added bonus, we were dropped off right at the tender boat, saving us a shuttle bus ride from town. Note - we had the option for the tour to drop us off back in town, had we wished to do more shopping. Great driver and guide - highly recommended tour!

Outstanding experience must visit and yes it's family friendly. Toilet facilities are rudimentary though
