I wish I could live here. It isn’t as much a “hotel” as a “nature lodge” - the two story units are near small ponds, farm animals, and hiking paths as neighbors rather than a Hilton-style single high rise. They had dogs, sheep, goats, frogs, ducks, and horses. The view from our unit was just stunning. Paradise regained.
You meet the hotel’s Jeep driver at Muhan and they drive you to the hotel over a rocky road through the elephant corridor. Do not drive your own car up the road like the person in front of us, it will not work and our driver had to push the car up a hill.
The room had a lovely bed and shower. There was coffee, tea, and water. The door seemed to have issues shutting when we entered, but the concierge noticed this, called a mechanic on site, and it was fixed within a literal 5 minutes.
The restaurant was excellent in both food and service. While breakfast is included, our safari was too early in the morning to get breakfast. At an American hotel, we would be SOL. Here, they offered (we did not request) to prepare sandwiches for us to take in the car when we left the hotel for our safari at 4:30 AM!
We had some challenges with our safari booking, which was unfortunately a little scammy. The hotel concerned, Taniya, was insightful and helpful at problem solving, giving me information and suggestions for negotiating with a frustrating booking agent. We love Auntie Taniya.
