We stayed for a long weekend and the cabin was cute, charming and cozy. Rustic yet modern enough for a relaxing stay. Cabin, Bath house and picnic area were exceptionally clean and overall in good repair, they cabin gets 2 billion-gazillon bonus points from this reviewer for having the handheld shower head in the women's shower! . This is out in the country so no cell service, but a wifi with speeds as one would expect of this remote area allowed for electronic entertainment if needed. There is no refrigerator or coffee maker in the cabin, so come prepared for that. For food, we brought cooler with ice and used our portable cast iron grill but they do have a charcoal grill onsite that we didn't know about, but that's our fault for not asking. We greatly enjoyed the fire pit. They even had two chairs and firewood. Small kindling was around the area thanks to the trees. Local wildlife was seen, including deer, feral mama cat and her kittens, and a local community dog who kept to himself but made his presence known. One is smart to bring bug spray for outside if they are yummy to mosquitos, whom happened to dine on me day and night while outside the first day as I forgot to spray. You are in the woods and near waterways so they are to be expected. The nearest store is blue creek grocery, about 15 minutes away and they have most anything you could need, Walmart in w. Portsmouth is 35-40 minutes away along with fast food options. We fished at Shawnee State Park and caught 9 bluegill and a largemouth bass. Very fun!
Exceptional stay overall.
