This was our first stay though vrbo. We decided to have our wedding here as it was a great looking property. Checking in was weird - the property manager asked us to send a "fee" over Venmo. This sounded sketchy so we requested all interactions remain through the vrbo app. When we said this, the property manager didn't mention the "fee" ever again and dropped the subject. On the last day of our stay I noticed some bug bites on my arm. No big deal, I was outside and tried my best using bug spray. Well, when I finally got home the last day and looked in the mirror, I probably had 200-300 bug bites COVERING my entire body. That night they became unbearable. I couldn't sleep, had to bomb our house twice, wash all our clothes, and CANCEL OUR HONEYMOON. It was TERRIBLE. I immediately called other wedding guests that stayed with us and we confirmed that several guests also had the bites. We messaged the host to let them know their property had bed bugs in at least 4 of the bedrooms. The denied having an infestation, and rented the property immediately after us. They were very rude, and completely unhelpful. They stopped replying to our messages, ignored us and never took ownership. We reached out to VRBO and still haven't heard a response. This was a terrible experience and I cannot believe the property manager didn't take ownership. Even worse - tried to gaslight us and re-rent the property onto the next unexpecting guests. DON'T STAY HERE-there are nicer and cheaper places. near
