We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and loved this cabin. It had everything we needed and had movies and toys for the little ones to play with. We loved sitting on the wrap around porch to have our drinks. The last night there we had a black bear visit in the side yard. He didn't bother us and left after a few minutes. So cool to see. Thank you to the owners for allowing us to rent this cabin!!
The perfect mountain getaway!! Such a beautiful cabin!! We had a great time relaxing on the wrap around porches, at the fire pit & exploring the mountain. Plenty of books & games to keep us occupied when it rained & the off spray & everything else provided was greatly appreciated!! The ride to the cabin was a fun experience! Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your cabin!!!
Our family traveled in from Pittsburgh for a few day getaway to visit New River Gorge. The location of the property is very rural on a dirt road. There are some steep sections to drive on to get to the property, but we did not have an issue. There are a number of abandoned homes with a lot of junk outside that sours the beauty of the woods. With that being said, the rental property was very nice. The Cabin has a welcoming feel and has every amenity that a renter would need. Krista, the owner, was very responsive. Our family thought the beds were very comfortable. There were a number of quiet spots on the outside deck to sit and relax. We unfortunately had very stormy weather so we could not use the fire pit. We really enjoyed the books at the cabin that have information about the mining towns, photos of how the cabin was built, West Virginia cookbooks, and ghost tales.
Enjoyed the property and home. Clean and cozy. Only suggestion is to advise visitors to take screen shots of GPS directions as you travel to and from house as you will lose and house is hard to find without.
Exceded our expectations. Very quiet and relaxing location. Cabin was absolutely perfect. Everything you would expect and more. Will definitely go back.
Our family had a short but great stay at Krista's house. The work that went into building the home and it's cleanliness are unbelievable. The fire pit was our favorite place to hangout. We showed up and the kids were surprised with the gift of the fixings of smores. Everything was in place at the fire pit to get a fire started with ease. Thanks for sharing your amazing home.
We just loved it here. We cooked on the fire, watched it rain from the comfort of the porch, and explored the woods. We didnât miss technology at all and I actually wish I was still in that environment. Great choice for a disconnect with plenty to do nearby. Highly recommend
Our family enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the cabin. The cabin has everything you need, including games and toys for our grandson. The host was easy to reach and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. There is no wifi, but we were happy about that- we got to enjoy our family that much more. New River gorge is 20 mins away- so we were able to hike and visit town for coffee, ice cream etc. I would recommend to my friends and family for sure.
The Cabin that Tom built was a wonderful place to stay! The home itself is charming and peaceful and just what we were looking for as we explored New River Gorge National Park. The location is remote and being able to disconnect from wifi was refreshing as we sat by the fire and enjoyed the quite all around. If you're looking for a beautiful cabin experience, wanting to disconnect, and enjoy solitude then this is your place! Thanks, we will be back!
The cabin was the perfect get away for the 7 of us that came to white water raft! We cooked out over the fire, and played plenty of cornhole haha. Would definitely come back to stay here again!
We had a great stay. We had cellphone service for text and calls with Verizon. Make sure to bring flashlights as it gets pretty dark out at night when going to the car or fire and you can trip on wet grass. Town has an amazing coffee shop with amazing food called Gran Robbies!! đ The scones were so good.
If youâre looking for an off-the-grid cabin, but within 20-30 minutes of town, this spot is for you! The cabin is well stocked with the basic kitchen necessities. The cabin was super cozy with plenty of room for our family to stay, plus some! There are two porches to enjoy your morning coffee, plus the outdoor fire-pit where we cooked all our meals on the built-in grate. We couldn't have been happier during our stay- will definitely be back!
We enjoyed our stay. The fire pit was inviting and well stocked with kindling wood and firewood. Would recommend for anyone looking to unplug from technology and enjoy the outdoors.
This property had everything you would want in a home away from home. It was beautifully decorated, super clean, and had many extras like bottles of water, teas, snacks, a complimentary s'mores kit, etc. The fire pit area was very nice, and had a removable grate which could be used to cook meals over the fire.
The location of the home is close to New River Gorge N.P.,
Hawk's Nest St. Park, and Babcock St. Park. We had a great stay at this property. Be aware that in order to get to this property you will have to drive some dirt roads, which can sometimes have ruts and bumps. Dirt roads aside, we loved staying at this home away from home!
What a great cabin! Off the beaten path but close to all the great adventures the area has to offer! Everyone in our group, from kids to adults, were so impressed by everything this home has to offer. Upon entering the property, you are greeted by an absolutely amazing porch, which is one of my new favorite places. The inside is so warm and inviting and the extra touches provided by the hosts, make you realize you made the right choice booking this property. None of us wanted to leave and we were barely off the property before our children started planning our next adventure in WV, which we all agree must include the Cabin at Rich Creek!
