Definately an old log cabin feel. Outside areas that were cleaned up were very nice. Propane âfire pitâ since burn ban was in effect was very cool to have. Inside common areas were good, the bedroom does not have walls and is separated by curtains from living area, and is very close quarters. Bathroom was interesting, but served its purpose.Had laundry room which was appreciated.Close to entrance of Mt Rainier.Very responsive property manager when we had issues with lock box
We came from Arizona to just relax in nature and thatâs exactly what we got. The cabin was perfect for our getaway and loved seeing our neighbor friends (about 6 deer). The hot tub was nice in the evening after hiking amazing trails nearby. Truly felt we were in the woods and away from all the hustle and bustle. Loved the personal touches in the cabin that let the visitor know a little bit about the ownerâs story.
Cute cabin in the woods with great convenience of being 10 minutes from the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. Worked great for us being so close with only one day to spend in the park. Everything matched the listing such a great place. We saw deer right out in front of the cabin one morning & deer as we came in the entrance twice. With my age I struggled a bit getting in & out of the claw foot tub but still it was advertised perfectly. WiFi a little off & on but again we were here to go to the park so not too much care about that.
My kids and I absolutely loved this cabin. It is cozy and comfortable and had everything we needed. This cabin is unique and wonderful. The decorations of the old photos and old mountaineering gear make the place feel so special. We loved the Keurig and my kids were so happy there was hot cocoa! The hot tub was fabulous after long days at Mount Rainier.
The challenge we experienced was the overwhelming smell of cat urine from the living room. Also, the trash bins were full when we arrived and remained full.
This place was the perfect jumping point for a few days in Rainier national park! Great location, close to restaurants, small grocery store, and the national park entrance. My daughter LOVED the loft area and the outdoor swing and it was so cool to see deer roaming about the property every day. House was clean and had everything we needed for our stay! Would absolutely stay again.
Once I changed my mindset to more of a campy feel, it was really great! Bathroom is older, and the place didnât feel as clean as I like it, but it was really nice to sit outside by the campfire with the family. Itâs close to the base of Mount Rainier and the neighborhood is nice.
This was our second stay here during our spring break week and we love it. I have two teenage boys that usually prefer phones over nature but when we come here they get out of cabin to build fires, chop wood, go for walks, etc. Itâs quiet and serene yet so close to a store and to Mt Rainier adventures. The host is awesome, we lost a couple of items and what was recovered was shipped back to us. Communication was great! Oh, and to top it off, itâs a perfect space to bring the doggo too! Highly recommend to get away from the hustle and bustle.
A great little cabin with all the amenities. We enjoyed our getaway and was plenty warm in late winter. It was very peaceful and loved seeing the deer. We made a few meals and also went to a local restaurant. We will plan a return trip to the Nelson Base Camp for fishing and hiking. Thanks again!
A much needed respite after the holidays. This was our second visit to Nelson Base Camp and it did not disappoint. A perfect cabin and location for both adventure and relaxation.
Nelson's basecamp is truly an incredible cabin. The cabin is set in a private and peaceful area. Surrounded by trees and wildlife. The wood stove kept us really warm all through the night. We loved all the historical pictures and items that are placed throughout the cabin. This place is a true cabin experience! We loved every moment we were here. We will definitely be returning to Nelson's basecamp.
We loved our stay, only wish hot tub was working , would have made it perfect. Loved the cabin and all the decor and warmth of the fire. A real true cabin! Watching the deer and hearing t h e rain on the skylights was amazing. We were all disappointed hot tub was not working on such short notice , but other than that. PERFECT!
Lovely area, super close to Mt. Rainier National Park. Hot tub was so nice, movies, and comfortable living area, bed comfortable, towels supplied, as well as toiletries. Would recommend.
