Came to Finch House for a weekend getaway and came back with memories! My tweens and I got to reconnect under the stars. A holistic renewal for our little family. Finch House has everything we need and a few special unexpected surprises. We loved it!ammenities that
Overall it was ok. The a/c does not keep up or work when its hot. The first day/night was miserable and we had to stay outside. Communication was there but nothing was done. Very dissapointed. Wouldnt stay again and or reccomend for summer months
Great location to Pedernales Falls and Bell Springs Winery!Check-in process was great and the host was very communicative. Our kids enjoyed the loft area! The amenities in the kitchen are bad definitely seen better days as was the outside areas. All in all, we enjoyed our stay!
When I arrived my code on the keypad did not work. I called the number, it was answered by the 2nd ring - they walked me through finding the lockbox as an alternative way to access the property. My 2 adult daughters joined me the 2nd night - it was perfect for all 3 of us to hang out and catch up after a soccer game. While the 100 additional fee seemed a bit excessive for the minimalist approach - I recommend!
Totally remote. I was here to work on a novel, so the lack of cell service and spotty internet actually benefitted me; but keep this in mind if itâs important to you. Some small roach friends, but of course weâre in the trees in the hill country, so if youâre staying for a long period as I did, bring an airtight container to store food in for safety. Otherwise, a very cute little treehouse cabin with a great view of the stars.
Amazing experience staying at a treehouse for the first time. Quiet, serene place to gather your thoughts, read a book by the balcony etc. Even though this is basically more outdoorsy so critters to be expected, they lost a star for small roach problem in the kitchen and uneven water temperature in the shower. Also heat did not circulate very well in the room. But yes, would stay here again.
The Finch house was beautiful and rustic! I would definitely stay here again! There is a small creek that runs right behind the house, and the porch is nice to sit and relax. The swing under the house and hammock were a nice touch also. There were plenty of towels upon arrival, the beds were cozy. We didnât want to leave!
Our stay was very good! Internet was not consistent, but other than that it was great! Very clean, it had everything we needed. A real hill country experience!
This treehouse is cute and the outdoor amenities are inviting. Upon arrival we noticed the beds were made but hastily, disheveled. There was a used bath towel hanging in the bathroom. Hair on the shower walls. It didnt seem the guest experience was important. A note was left stating âinternet is tricky but try any combination belowâ. If you know itâs not reliable...and itâs not. fix it! We were not able to use smart tv at all. Husband missed the game he wanted to stream. At minimum add a digital antenna. Also, not the properties fault but the cell service is poor so you wonât be using your hot spot or looking for things to do in the area.
The most pressing issue is the heat! The unit is not sufficient for the space. Unit is placed high on the wall so all the heat rises to the tall ceiling. Pillows had to be placed in front of window by bed to keep draft out as best as possible. Consider having extra blankets. NO heat in bathroom!! A small amount of heat comes in if you leave door open so there is no privacy. The water does get hot quickly. The temp in shower cycles to extremes 90 secs hot, 15 secs frigid. We did not plan to use the fire pit outside but received an email during the stay that hit me as unprofessional. It stated that the igniter was out and that you would have to light manually (no problem) but added you probably wonât have a lighter âbecause they keep disappearingâ. If you canât fix the internet, smart tv issue at least donât advertise it
We rented the Finch House for 2 nights to take our daughters to Perdenales Falls State Park. We really enjoyed our stay. House was very clean and neat.
Was told when issue could not be fixed to âevacuate property immediately â since I would reach out to my credit card company . I have text message with that language.
There were way too many pros about this cabin to list all of them. My favorite was getting to see deer and birds so closely every day. Everything was also clean and tidy.
Our only real issue was upon arrival. At 4pm on the day we came in it was 100 degrees outside. We were hoping to walk into something cool(ish) to alleviate the discomfort. The inside of the cabin felt like it was 80+ degrees. We turned on the electric wall AC unit and it took over 9 hours to get the cabin to 72 degrees. It was a painful night sleep. We did contact the hosts to ask them about the AC after we had been there an hour without any seemingly change in temperature. The response was, "It's a hot time of day (5:30 PM) The AC unit is working it's hardest. It works best when set to 71-72"
We waited it out and once it cooled down it stayed comfortable.
Some other things to note from 3, 40+ aged women who like to adventure
1. The beds are not comfortable. I slept in the loft and you can feel the springs against you constantly.
2. The comfortable seating situation is minimal inside the cabin.
3. The vent/filter of the AC unit was super dirty
We all liked the cabin. None of us thought it was worth the money to stay there.
