This place was nothing like it was advertised as. The neighborhood was super sketchy, didnât feel safe, the beds were worse than bad and uncomfortable. We wouldnât book again! Itâs very deceiving on the website. Back porch was nothing like it looked when we booked it!
Great location for easy access to UT. Well maintained (indoors) historic home. Outdoors could use some sprucing up but we enjoyed it regardless. We would stay there again!
We had an enjoyable stay in this home. Had everything we needed and the backyard was nice for our dog. It can be a bit noisy with traffic noise but the neighborhood itself was nice for dog walking and quiet. The faucet in the bathroom needs attention as the cold water handle is broken. Otherwise it was fine
This is a great small house, that I previously stayed at afew years ago. The house is charming and in a convenient area that to me still feels like old Austin. The house just needs a "refresh": bathroom faucet, old windows and screens, issues w/ door easy to be locked out, wi-fi instructions had changed w/ no new instructions, found Vacassa management service unhelpful. And most importantly the cleaning service needs to thoroughly cleans the back screened in porch which has a sitting area. This is very important because of the small size of the home. Porch Screens need to be fixed, no tank for bbq, and back room and outdoor table covered in dust. "We cleaned" and I wrote something to Vacassa, prop magmt, during trip and when I returned - no reply. My issue was if I have to spend vacation time cleaning why am I paying a cleaning charge? The lack of communication w/ prop mgmt. was the most frustrating part of all - old charming house, but again, needs some attention.
I really enjoyed the property. It was very cozy. It was perfect for my family. The area around was nice as well.
The only thing I wish was a little better was that there was more light for the outside. At night it gets super dark and being by an alley way it felt a little spooky. Honestly
The house was super clean upon arrival. Neighborhood was quiet. We really enjoyed how close it was to everything and a very close to a grocery store. Great place.
My friend came from out-of-state for a girls weekend in Austin and we stayed here. It was the perfect location for everything we didâwhat a fun neighborhood! The house was very clean and had everything we needed. We did not get to enjoy the outdoor space much due to all the rain, but maybe next time. Like others mentioned, the furniture was completely different than what the picture shows, but that was not an issue for us. We tried to do a load of laundry and there was such a foul odor coming from inside the washing machine that we chose not to use it.
We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this little cottage in this quaint neighborhood.
We have always loved our VRBO rentals, but this one was very disappointing. While it was clean enough, there were many maintenance issues and this house clearly isnât very loved.
Fridge has no light and door shelves have no bars across them. When we checked in, there were leftover open ice cream containers in the freezer that were still there.
Lighting very poor overall in the house. Very dark
not all blinds work so that they open and close easily. Broken window in rear bedroom, covered up with packing tape.
Molding from front screen door came off as we were leaving
Water pressure very low in shower.
Wrong Wi-Fi information on emails and app.
Linens were very thin old. Towels, thin and white ones were dark and dingy. I did not feel comfortable using the towels and we were glad we brought our own pillows.
The screens were torn on the porch and the screen door latch was missing so it wouldnât stay closed.
Also, there is no walkway from the parking area to the front door. There are only these large stones that are supposed to be stepping stones, but are not level. We almost tripped on them. Overgrown weeds on the driveway. Scratched our car going in and out.
This house has a lot of possibilities and could be adorable and a terrific rental with some minor updating and maintenance.
Needs a few upgrades, not the same furniture as in pictures. However, none of that really mattered. We enjoyed our stay, it was a peaceful stay and close to a lot of stores and Downtown. I would definitely rent this place out again.
The home is lovely, and we especially enjoyed the screened in porch. It's a little loud at times with traffic from a nearby larger road, but that's city living!
The house was clean and neatly organized. The living room furniture is different than what is in the online photos, but that didnât end up being an issue with how many we needed to seat. There are some clear issues with upkeep of the house itself, as there is a broken window in the back sleeping room that was attempted to be patched with tape. And in the front sleeping room, a plant from outside is growing in the room through the window, making it clear that some details are neglected. But overall we had a decent stay. The neighborhood was quiet and the house served our needs.
My friends and I had a great stay and this cute quaint little house. Enough space, clean and easy to get where you want to go! I enjoyed the neighborhood. Management was really responsive when we had questions. Would definitely stay here again!
Cute cottage, perfect for visiting our UT Law daughter
The cottage was perfect for our stay -- only a mile from our daughter's apartment, comfortable, nice neighborhood, and convenient. We didn't spend a lot of time in the cottage, we were too busy seeing Austin from Lake Travis to the Lady Bird wildflowers and more. But it was nice to have a full kitchen and far better than staying at a hotel. The washer/dryer is a nice plus as well!
