My family and I had an incredible time! The home is exactly as pictured, clean and a great space for families. The rooms are comfortable, the kitchen is wonderfully stocked (2 dishwashers and stoves, stand-alone ice maker, lots of pots and pans), and itâs so nice that the main floor is all communal space with beautiful windows all around to enjoy the view! Some faves: the outdoor showers, clean pool, the worldâs best blender for pina coladas, the huge porch with ample seating, lovely hosts who are easy to communicate with and quick to respond.
It was very clean inside. The maintenance guy was very responsive. The kitchen was well appointed. Plenty of seating for a big family. Pool was very nice..lots of sand in it due to the 50 mph winds whipping it off the dunes...felt like a personal sand blast.. Views were perfect. Dryer vent outside very clogged, The outside furniture worn, broken . upper deck railing very loose and dangerous. No swings under house as shown. Horse shoe pits overgrown and on 1 single horse shoe . Game room the size of a closet and the air hockey table all warped. The swing on the middle deck is barely attached on one side..ready to bust. bathTub did not drain, giant disgusting hairball the size of a small dog we dug out. The firepit is really next door and is within a yard..literally of the neighboring house..as is the piazza. The functions board on the hot tub needs replacing, very difficult to change temp or turn on jets. Not sure what you were calling a play area...broken power outlet, dangerous, rusty nails sticking up out of very warn decking. no cushions on any piazza chairs as shown in pics, just splinters , a cockroach in the kitchen. Left rusty nails laying on the deck on the dresser.
Pros:The location is fantastic with the beach just over the dunes and a 3 minute trip to the grocery store. The layout of the house is also a win for hanging out with people. Kitchen is well stocked and has two stoves and dishwashers. The pool is shaded in the afternoon and great - pool and beach toys included. Outdoor showers are great.I love the 80's arcade carpet and shark themed deck chairs. Really adds character to the house. Cons: The upper deck is in poor condition. One of our party stepped on the top of a nail and it was so rusted that the top just lifted up with her foot. The upstairs deck railing is wobbly and feels like a good push will send it toppling. The game room isn't really functional - one nice cushy chair, a small bench and the air hockey table is bumpy and sad. Four youth in our party and it literally never got used. Not a deal breaker. The wicker bar stools in the living room also feel a bit unstable and we are small people.Would love to stay again if oceanside upper decking were replaced.
Our family and friends thoroughly enjoyed our week spent in BLISS. The owners answered any questions we had quickly, even sending out a handy man for an electronics issue the same day we contacted them. The house itself was comfortable and had many extra little touches above other rentals like a commercial ice machine, 2 bar areas, a commercial smoothie/frozen drink machine, large refrigerator and 2 ovens and dishwashers to accommodate a large group. The living spaces were large and roomy with plenty of space to play games, watch a movie, and hang out together. There are several options for lounging outside together as a big group also. The pool was a must for us when looking to rent and it turned out to be a favorite spot to end the day outside. Everyone in our party enjoyed themselves all week and we plan on renting this property again.
We had 6 adults and 3 littles that stayed here for a week. The group loved the pool and hot tub. Some of the littles were afraid of the ocean but we spent most days on the beach playing in the sand. The path to the beach was well marked, coming back from the beach is a bit of a workout, over the first dune only. Two 70 adults were able to do it though. It was great having the living room and kitchen on the highest level as we could see the ocean and sunrises. Ample outdoor seating was appreciated. Having two refrigerators, stoves, and dishwashers helped out a great deal. The ice machine was broken when we were there, but the owner was getting a new one. The owner was responsive when we reached out. There are also two outside showers that we used a good deal. I think only one person, once used an indoor shower. There was a great place to store beach items. The place is a bit weathered, even so we would stay here again if we came back to the Outer Banks.
If you come with the right expectations, you'll have a blast. We encountered a few hiccups, like others mentioned, with some things needing repair. While most werenât dealbreakers, the A/C being out during a stormy, hot week was tough, making the living space less usable. However, the host was fantastic, staying in frequent communication and making everything as smooth as possible. The location is stunning, the house was spotless, and the beds were incredibly comfortableâa must for me on vacation. The porch swing brought me so much joy, and the ocean views from almost every angle were worth every penny.
The house could use a few updates, starting with the grill. It made cooking dinner a bit challenging, especially with the wind, and my husband had to take it apart and clean it to make it usable. But overall, it was a great stay, and Iâd recommend staying at the Bliss!
Great location- quiet and serene. Well stocked house with thoughtful and responsive hosts. House could use a few upgrades but overall hosts did a good job to ensure house was well provisioned for stay. AC worked wonderfully and beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms are very tiny and a bit tired, and decor is very 70âs OBX but comfy. Outdoor showers were great. Wish there had been a way to connect top level outside with the other levels other than inside stairs, and there were some nails popping up in deck that were to be avoided- just told kids to wear shoes while outside. Overall a very pleasant stay. Pool was great.
This house was great for our family vacation. The two stoves/ovens and dishwashers were wonderful. The view from the deck was great as well. The kids enjoyed the pool.
Wonderful location, beautiful views and slept to ocean waves. Kitchen was well equipped, and the games provided added a great unexpected fun time. Highly recommend the house!!
Really enjoyed learning about the history of the area, loved the Shipwreck Graveyard Museum, First Flight National Park and the Wild Horse area was fantastic.
We did not have great weather on our trip so we were very grateful to have a good house, plenty of space and activities for the teens. Some of the decor is a little eclectic for my taste, but it was fun. Very well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds too. Game room is a little small for the air hockey table, but we made it work. I love that most of the bedrooms have a door directly to the ocean front deck.
The location of this home is very convenient to the grocery store, pizza and Duck Donuts. It is nestled in a quiet, quaint neighborhood off the main road. The view from the main floor of the house is breathtaking. The two stoves were a blessing as we cooked for Thanksgiving. The owners are very responsive via text. The hot tub was very clean.
Its decor is certainly eclectic. The house is not luxury, itâs the epitome of old school OBX which is what we love. The only draw back that we saw with the house is that the beds are very uncomfortable if youâre there for more than a night or two. Other than that- great house.
The house and all it's amenities were everything we wanted for our great week's stay there! It was exceptionally clean and well maintained! Kitchen was stocked with everything needed for preparing any meal! We would recommend it to anyone wishing to stay there!
The property was perfect for our family. The pool is a great addition for a refreshing end to the day. Also having 2 stoves, dishwashers and refrigerators was great.
This house was perfect! The house had everything we needed. Easy access to beach, beautiful pool, outdoor showers, right down the street from the grocery store, and the most amazing sunrises every morning!
We had an awesome time at the Bliss House! It was well equipped, we'll maintained, and the beach in that area is uncrowded. Would definitely stay there again.
Home was friendly and inviting. It was clean and the host had great communication and was very accommodating. Excellent place for a family with kids but also great for a group of adults. Stayed for two weeks and it wasnât long enough.
Close to Hatteras lighthouse, ferry to Ocracoke, several restaurants, a fresh seafood market and a grocery store. Would love to come back!!
Bliss was a perfect fit to spend Thanksgiving week with family. Relaxing and quiet. The views from every room were amazing. For the five adults it was very spacious. Plenty of kitchen utensils and dishes. The two dishwashers and ovens was very convenient. Conveniently located to the fresh seafood market and grocery store.
The location and the home were great. It's a little hike across the dunes with fishing gear but the stairs were very helpful. The carpet is new and very colorful. The kitchen was great for cooking for larger crowds. We will probably try to stay here again
