I honestly wish I could rate Hotel Canoe with 5 stars. Almost everything about our stay was perfect. However, the king size bed in our suite was SO uncomfortable that we had to check out early on our last day to get home and actually get some sleep. We woke up sore and stiff the first night, and could not get any sleep at all the second night. Unfortunately the most important part of a hotel is being able to sleep comfortably and we could not. The location, staff, restaurant, and amenities were great. The hotel itself is very beautiful.
Nice facility, polite and helpful staff.
Condo room was basically a basement suite with one small window. Very cold with loud wall-mounted heater. TV was antiquated with no streaming or mirroring capabilities and boring cable channels. (We were looking for a quiet getaway after our wedding, to just lie around)
Also had requested a quiet room and was extremely noisy. People clanging around and slamming doors early am to late at night.
The room was very nice and bright (but you can have curtains the were light blocking), laundry machines were available, BEAUTIFUL grounds, we went on a walk through the property and at every level you could look out and see the beautiful mountains! The showers were nice and my partner loved the coffee they supplied. They also gave us bus passes for two of the local lines which was very convenient but it is also not a far walk from the downtown core (maybe like 15-20 minutes if you’re taking your time). The restaurant was expensive but absolutely delicious and worth it. Will definitely recommend and want to go again!
My stay at The Canoe hotel was absolutely exceptional from the moment we stepped through the door. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, anticipating my needs before we even had to ask. The mountain view room made every mornings even more special. The hotel's location was perfect for exploring the city for free with a bus ticket provided by the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a excellent experience with outstanding service. Special mention to Dan who find a last minute shuttle to the airport, he was really committed to help even on my last hour at the hotel, I was truly impressed and satisfied.
This was a spontaneous one night stay….. that turned into the most memorable place we stayed the entire trip. The outdoor spa pools were amazing. The offer of bus passes for our stay on check in was a nice touch…… but it was the coffee that did it. The drip coffee machine with the fresh ground coffee brought specifically up to our room with the side of oat milk left in our
fridge…… waking up in the mountains. Making a coffee. Watching the sunrise. Unreal.
Rooms are modern and there is lots of parking. Place was clean yet very noisy in building C. It was not an enjoyable stay for that reason getting less than five hours of sleep for three nights in a room.
