We had a short stay while visiting family nearby, and this little place was great for what we needed—a place to sleep that was close to where we were going. It’s in a small, quiet neighborhood, and there is parking right by the side door for one or two vehicles. Check-in and entry were a breeze, and a basket of coffee awaited us!
It was mostly clean when we first arrived, but there was a small pile of dead carpenter ants on the baseboard heater in the half bath. I just wiped them off and threw them in the trash before we left to get dinner. When we got back, it was immediately apparent that there was a carpenter ant infestation. The host was instantly responsive and brought baits to take care of them.
The biggest issue for us was the A/C situation. The living/dining room has a window unit, as does one of the three bedrooms—two bedrooms have no A/C, and that was not really clear on the listing (box fans in the bedrooms could have helped). When we tried to use the dining room A/C, it would work for a minute, then trip the circuit breaker, so we’d have to go flip that to get it (or any outlets on the same circuit) to work. We weren’t using much electricity (just the TV, a few lights, and my tablet charger), so we were all a bit perplexed. Eventually we gave up and just used ceiling fans. We didn’t use the heaters, but there were a ton of blankets, so I imagine that it would have been a non-issue in cold months.
All in all, not bad for a limited stay, and the host was great.
