Quite Rural Location
We stayed for 5 nights for our visit to the Durango area. The house is large, well laid out with common areas on the ground floor and bedrooms upstairs. We enjoyed the hot tub. We were unable to find towels for the hot tub so we used the bath towels. There were no napkins so we used paper towels. There was no coffee or creamer. The igniter on the gas grill does not work so we found a small cigarette lighter in the wood burning fireplace box which was difficult to light the grill. A remote garage door opener would be nice for inclement weather. The bath tub in the main bathroom upstairs drains very slowly. The toilet on the main floor fills very slowly. Overall, a few minor inconviences but we enjoyed our stay.

Peaceful neighborhood close to Durango!
The home was comfortable, clean, and had plenty of cooking gear. The hot tub was perfect on a cool evening! Close to Durango and also to Vallecito reservoir. The neighborhood has its own park and walking trail. We loved it!

New Year’s Getaway
We had a wonderful and cozy stay. It snowed while we were there, and the yard was great for playing in the snow. The house was most accommodating and homey. We loved the open floor plan and bedrooms upstairs. The dogs loved playing outside in their own space. We will definitely be visiting again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Everything was great the only thing that i would of liked was a insta hot hot water heater we ran out of hot water like 15 mins into our showers and there wasnt enough hot water to even shave other then that everything else was great and relaxing which was what we were looking for.

The hot tub was over treated with chemicals, the hot tub had sand all over the bottom of it, there were dirty underwear in the bedroom closet, the trash can keys were missing (so trash piled up in the garage stinking it up, the sheets were dirty on the pull out couch, but otherwise the house was great. The location was quiet and the wildlife was amazing. The kitchen was well equipped for use, the grill was convenient (but was filty and caught fire so my husband had to clean it), the beds were comfortable, the pillows were ok, but really need replaced, and the the decor was beautiful!

Had a great 40th anniversary week celebration. Bayfield is excellent location for fishing, hiking, National and State Parks close by and Durango. House was clean and we had all we needed for our stay. Especially Loved access to garage for parking and enclosed pet area

Loved the place. It was a great stay.
I have spent much of my weekends over the years climbing Colorado 14ers, which had me in the Durango many times, but it has been awhile. I wanted to get to know area better. In fact, the area is on my shortlist to retire to soon. I picked a home and a neighborhood that I might actually like to live in. While that particular was perfect and stay was great, I did not care as much of the location as expected. It was reasonably close to Durango and Vallecito Res (beautiful), but not close to the national forest. Everything around here is private land. We wanted to run Los PInos river in our kayak, but there were no put-ins or take-outs as the entire river was in private land. he inability to access things like this just did not register with this Colorado boy, so it as a turn-off. That notwithstanding, the specific home was fabulous.

Nice getaway in the trees!
Great property, well stocked and maintained and the customer service was fantastic. The only piece of feedback I would share is that the property could use some pest control - there were ants in on of the bathrooms, spider webs outside, and gnats in some of the bedrooms. Normal in the mountains, but maybe get someone in the spray.

Great stay!!
We truly enjoyed this cabin . It’s close to Durango but very private. So much to see and do nearby. We loved hiking and visiting the Durango Hot Springs.The kitchen was fully equipped and the beds were super comfy! The only drawback we had was that the hot tub was not very clean even after they said they came out and cleaned it. Then they did send someone on our last day there. I think it’s just hard to keep these clean . Also, there was a dog that barked every morning nearby and a big Akita that some neighbor lets run loose. Neither of these issues are the rental owners fault … so overall .. we loved it .

Spring Break
My husband and I took our son and one of his friends snowboarding for Spring Break. We always book a house with a hot tub. We enjoyed the kitchen the most! We had a few issues that were promptly taken care of. My husband worked from the home office and we took our Beagle, Dixie. It was incredibly clean! The heated floors in the master bath was a nice surprise.

We had a wonderful time. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. And our dogs loved romping around in the snow. I loved that the cabin had everything we needed even for the dogs. Highly recommend.

Such a perfect spot!
This is such a great spot especially if your goals is to enjoy nature, have pets and prefer privacy. The house is massive and has a very cabin-home feel to it which we loved. I worked during the week and they have an entire room dedicated as an office space which was great. The hottub was a huge plus. Durango is about 30 minutes away but the drive is so pretty it didn't bother us at all. Wonderful experience and will be back!

Amazing!
The home is so beautiful & welcoming! We spent most of our time outside on the patio, watching it rain & the wildlife. It was beautiful, wish we were still there! My puppies LOVED the back yard & it was safe & secure for them. The amenities were 1st class. There was a leak in the freezer, but we were able to fix it so the owners did not have to pay for maintenance. We also cleaned the house before we left, even though not required. We (my brother & I) could have stayed for a month!! Hope to go back soon!! Thank you!

Nice place for family getaway.
30 min east of Durango. Steam locomotive train to Silverton was a joy for all of us, young and old. Caretaker was excellent. Dogs had a wonderful time as well. Laundry room and back porch were especially nice. Spa was new and very nice.

Wonderful week spent at Forest Lakes
The house was everything we needed and more. We traveled from southern CA with our infant and the house was so cozy and homey. We truly felt like we were at our own house! The bedrooms were all spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Everyone had their own bathroom which was a plus! It was nice to cook dinner in the beautiful kitchen (which came equipped with everything we needed), enjoy a movie on Netflix and cap off the night with a soak in the hot tub. We would recommend this house to any family visiting the Durango area.
