Absolutely stunning property, very thoughtful hosts. Cottage was very comfortable and had everything we could need. Lots of places to go hiking in the surrounding areas. Loved being surrounded by nature. People in the area very friendly.

We were amazed by the quality, beauty and attention to detail. The features and detail are attentive FLW style. The facilities and amenities are top-rate and completely up to date. The setting is private and remote. The beauty of the area including rock formations, is awesome. The owners are the best and are happy to talk about their inspiration and process.

Wow--this will ruin you for any other rental!

Stunning. Every detail. I gifted my husband a few nights' getaway and we really didn't want to leave. Not to sound snooty, but I'm a designer and the details REALLY matter to me--and this place truly could not have been better. The location is perfect--felt like we were far away from everything, but only a short drive from restaurants, etc. We truly could not have had a better getaway. We sure hope to be back! Thanks Joe and Kelly--what a gift to be invited into your cottage/labor of love!

We were looking for a quiet place to relax for a few days, but what we got was so much more. The cottage is one of the most thoughtfully designed spaces I have ever stayed in, and probably one of the most aesthetically designed places available for rent. There was just a sheet of tall glass that separated us from the spectacular view outside of tall trees and a gorgeous valley around it. From the cozy fireplace with recliners, a fully functional kitchen, an elegant drink table, a modern bathroom, and a sprawling living space made it rather hard for us to leave it and go out. But when we did, the surrounding area along the Mississippi was simply spectacular. We strongly recommend this place and will surely return as soon as possible.

Romantic getaway

We booked this for our anniversary getaway. There is no detail left undone, it is such a peaceful and relaxing oasis. There are many good places to eat and explore a short drive from the cottage. We are thankful and blessed to have found this treasure. We will definitely be back!

August 1-3, 2023 Stay

Absolutely the perfect get-a-way. The property is clean, gorgeous views, and out of the way of everyday life. Close enough to Galena and Dubuque attractions, but we found that we just wanted to jest get back to the property to sit on the patio and and enjoy all it has to offer. We really enjoyed making a fire every night and listening to cows and wild life while watching the night sky. If I could give this property 10 stars I would. Joe and Kelly are amazing hosts with great communication and left us a great bottle of wine and turtles (my wife's favorite) to enjoy. We can't wait to book again in the near future.

Wonderful: Gracious host and beautiful architecture.

We have stayed at the O'Donnell cottage twice now. They are outstanding communicators and host. The cottage is perfection. Light dancing on the stone stone, the way the inside flows to the outside - this is a special place.
