I wish I could be writing a glowing review. While the location is in walking distance to downtown Bend, trails and parks, that's pretty much all it has going for it. Yes, the kitchen has been updated and well stocked with dishware, but it is an old and worn property. The photos make it look nicer than it is, so we were disappointed by its condition. It's in need of maintenance as well as better cleaning. The tile floor was not clean when we entered, one bathtub still had soap scum on the sides near the base, one toilet had black running down the bowl from the water holes under the rim, one bathroom sink took a good 1.5-2 minutes to drain, one bath fan sounds like it needs service, toilet plungers are stored uncovered in the sink cabinets along with the hair dryer, extra TP and tissues (yuck!), one electrical outlet was missing an outlet and cover plate, one lamp was missing a lampshade, there were spots all over the black kitchen backsplash which may have been cleaner residue or just not cleaned properly, and the counters were quite streaked (again, may have been cleaner that was just left to dry after wiping), some furniture is quite worn. When we stripped the bed as requested in the checkout instructions, we were surprised to find no mattress pad over the mattress. Yuck! The unit above produces a great deal of noise from folks walking around as well as from the toilets and showers. Sadly, the unit is not comfortable and inviting, so we had little desire to spend any time in it. I will say that the management was great at communicating with us, which we appreciated. That said, it doesn't appear that walk-throughs are being conducted to monitor the condition of the unit, nor is housekeeping being proactive at passing on maintenance it requires.
