I book with VRBO for the convenience of the booking process. Book, Checkin, Stay, Check Out.
Unfortunately that was not the case here. I booked my stay and then the property owner emailed me letting me know that there will be an additional $75 cleaning fee added because they do not start a stay on Saturdays, or Sundays (Which VRBO allowed us to book) We then had to sign a waiver, and send our DL. (Which I have never had to do before using VRBO.)
There were about 15 emails throughout the week prior with additional fees, crazy long instructions that were difficult to understand until you read over everything many times.
It took SO MUCH of my time, and to be honest put a major damper on our relaxation before we even arrived.
The day of we were let know that we had been upgraded to the nicer/more private cabin on the property.
We were very excited, and thankful, but upon arrival, the cabin had not been cleaned or ready for us.
We went to our original cabin (which seemed ready) We contacted the owner, and he apologized and let us know that the hot tub had not been cleaned yet on that property.
So for the first hour of our stay, his entire family was right out our window cleaning up our property while our dogs were barking at them. Not relaxing:(
Overall, the property was as expected, and the small lake was beautiful, but it would be a toss up if we would stay again, because of all of the inconvenience of the unorganization of the property owner.
