Nice, but very dated
A good location and family home base for exploring the surrounding Graeagle area in spring and early summer, but it is in need of some updates. We were fortunate that the temperatures didn’t get above 85 because there are only fans in the house. The two king beds downstairs are indented from use and not comfortable. The bbq was also in need of an upgrade and was difficult to use. New beds and bbq would greatly improve this property.

Good location
The rustic River House was a great spot to stay for our golf tournament weekend. It's an old and quirky house but it was perfect for what we needed. The location is somewhat isolated and the views from the backyard were very nice. It's a short walk down to the local bar and easy access to get to the many golf courses in the area.

Needs to be updated.
TV in master bedroom did not work and could only use pay cable stations. Sound on TV in living room was horrible could not turn it up had to use closed caption. Last year we complained about the same issue, and it still has not been corrected. No fuel for barbecue and smelled like carpet cleaning had just taken place. Will not rent again if TV not taken care of.

It was nice!! Definitely need to watch your children if you have any because of the cliff. If there is a urn in the home. I think that is kinda gross. The tv in the master bedroom we couldn’t get it to work. I think it is missing a second remote because the front room has 2 and the bedroom only has 1. Need better cutlery set or suggest people to bring their own. Knives were not good at all.

A friendly family house
Great location, set off with no visible neighbors. Nice house with pretty well stocked kitchen. A few terrific pieces of furniture. Probably better in summer.when you can enjoy the deck and lawn furniture. The big negative is the second bedroom, where we stayed. There are no window coverings and a vinyl floor with no area rugs. A stopper for us.

Comfortable, but disappointed in amenities.
This is an update to a previous review: # 28925705 “I was one of seven ladies who spent their annual “girl’s weekend” this past weekend at this location. Beds were great as was the location. Early check-in was offered to us the night before we were to arrive, so that was a plus. The rooms were large and welcoming. The view was incredible. However, I was NOT notified that this property was experiencing problems with the water! There was a note posted on the refrigerator telling all of us “they were experiencing low water levels in their well”. Not only was the water table low, but the water had a bad odor and taste. We were asked to conserve, which we did, but IF we had had prior notice (as the owners did), we would have cancelled. Also, all of us were looking forward to having evening fires in the living room fireplace-there was another note “Out of order-please do not use”. That’s half of the fun-an evening fire on chilled evenings in the mountains!! Again, this information was NOT shared with me prior to our check-in on Wednesday. In all fairness, there was a wood stove in the kitchen area, but that’s not how the property was advertised. We discovered that one of the dining room chairs was broken, too. One last thing-we we’re not able to leave our trash and recycling in the outdoor bins, as they were already filled before we arrived. So, because of the evidence of recent bear activity near the deck, we left our garbage in the kitchen. The kitchen cupboards contained the families left-over items which made for zero room for any of our cooking items to be stored. (The cupboards/drawers need to be completely cleaned and the antiques utensils removed). This is a yearly retreat for all of us and we were hoping to make this property our annual destination. The descriptions given were very misleading. IF you are thinking of renting this home, make sure you negotiate the nightly price first. Everyone in our group has used VRBO when we travel with our families, so each of us expects to receive the same standards wherever we visit.

Relaxation to the max
This rental was exactly what we needed for our stay during a family wedding. The house was extremely welcoming and we had everything we could possibly need. Very spacious, with plenty of seating and comfortable beds. We also appreciated the little note to park under the carport, so the squirrels wouldn't drop pine cones on our cars. The view is beautiful, we were able to see deer walking down to the creek each morning, and I loved that we could hike down to the creek ourselves. The large front bay window also gave us a great view of the many deer visiting the front yard. While there are other homes around, the tree cover gives great privacy. It's very conveniently located to many little shops and the just down the street from the Frosty, as well as just a couple minutes from the Corner Barn, where we were attending the wedding. It is very likely that we will be staying here yearly, as my family enjoyed themselves so much.

It could be a nice property, BUT: Coffee maker was not working, but was replaced. Hot tub did not work and was dirty. Wi-fi and TV did not work. No blinds, curtains or shades in second bedroom that had window facing east. Microwavable dishes were very limited. Make certain amenities are working prior to renting.

Older home with lot's of character. Fantastic location.
I wish we had found this sooner. We have been coming up to the area several times over the summer. This place is located on the Feather river. We caught fish and had them on the BBQ within minutes. I would definitely stay here again.
