There were four of us - two single women, and the overseas parents of a young man graduating from the Berklee School of Music. We all loved our Saco Street apartment. it was very clean, tidy, and well appointed. The bedrooms are all on the second floor - three bedrooms and two full baths. Each bedroom has a queen size bed, its own mini fridge, a large screen, smart TV, and a new Mitsubishi split unit heating /cooling system. The beds were comfortable, one was especially firm. The bathrooms were interesting with painted wall/shower murals, and intricate tiling.
This is an older home which has been renovated, and much of its original charm has been maintained, or perhaps improved on, in our opinion. The stairs were refinished, new windows, nicely painted, plenty of closet and storage space. The wooden floors are a bit creaky, and walking around late at night might awaken a light sleeper.
The galley kitchen and large open seating area is on the third floor. it is quite comfortable with several sofas and a couple of armchairs and a a large smart TV. We didn’t cook much, eggs and toast for breakfast, coffee, and tea. But the kitchen is well equipped, and preparation of meals would not be difficult.
We like the neighborhood - there are Vietnamese, Thai, in Asian fusion restaurants, nearby, as well as pizza and burger places. Grocery shopping is several blocks away and the red line metro station that connect you throughout the Boston area is about a 10 minute walk.
