We had the best holiday, the house is beautiful, close to the beach, the kitchen had everything we needed, we coped with the solar running out and using the generator (it was during a tropical low). The things that threatened to ruin our holiday: we stayed over Australia Day in January, during a heat wave, and were not advised that this house does NOT have ceiling or pedestal fans. For the first three days, the heat was so unbearable at night that we did not get much sleep. We left 3 messages begging for a pedestal fan, we never did get a reply. This is unacceptable when you are paying the crazy fees that Moreton island accommodations feel entitled to charge. The second major issue was the linen communications: we decided to bring our own since the charges per person were too expensive. I asked what size the beds were (was told 2 doubles and 6 singles). I hunted for double bed fitted sheets, only to discover, once we were on the island with no recourse, that the beds are in fact QUEEN beds. It's not hard to communicate information correctly. These 2 events threatened to derail our holiday a bit, but the house, the island, the vibes and the magic of Moreton ensured that we still had a great holiday in the end. Particularly once the breeze came through. (We did eventually manage to beg a fan off of the maintenance man who came to move the generator).
