The wife and I were very excited to celebrate our anniversary, but unfortunately, Mark was unresponsive and unprofessional. We booked the property four months in advance, expecting a smooth experience. However, as the date approached, I became concerned because Mark had only communicated once, on the day we made the reservationâlikely an automated messageâand did not respond to any subsequent messages I sent two days prior or just two and a half hours before our arrival. Despite multiple calls and messages while en route and upon arrival, we received no response from him. We had to contact Vrbo support, who were unable to reach him either. After waiting for approximately an hour and during the heat outside the property, we discovered that Mark had double-booked the listing with another party who had booked through a different platform months after we did. Mark provided the other guests with the property details, but he failed to inform us of the issue promptly. Ultimately, support arranged for him to cancel our reservation, which forced us to drive back home without staying at the property. Based on this experience, I recommend caution when booking with this individual, as poor communication and double-booking issues can significantly impact your plans.
