The location is just ideal for people wanting to visit Lucca. The view from the house is stunning in all directions. The house met our expectations. We were two 50+ year olds, and two 80+ year olds, mothers and daughters. There are two kitchens, though we used just one, on the middle level. There is no bathroom on the main living level, which means to use one you have to go up a flight, or down a flight. The lower level is accessed only via the outside stairs. For safety reasons for the 80+ year olds, we used the walk-in shower on the ground level only, as the bathtub on the top level (with the 3 bedrooms) has a rounded bottom and didn't feel safe for the 80+ year olds, but this is Italy, so it's to be expected. Leandro was very helpful and any need we had he or the caretakers were there to help us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. For us, the weather wasn't as cooperative (Oct 5-12) as we had rain several of the days. It was too cold to enjoy the beautiful outdoor setting (for swimming in the pool or eating outside). In between rain showers we walked all over Lucca, enjoying the varieties of Pecorino cheeses. A deli down the hill, Bandini, provided a couple of salami/meat and cheese trays, great bread and the wonderful apple cake for which Lucca is known.
