Great welcome from Raymond, pick up from the airport, tour and welcome pack much appreciated. Lovely apartment, has everything you need. Coffee machine is Dolce Gusto you need to take the coffee pods. Also take a few CD's if likely to have a night in, were a few in the apartment but a bit limited/ old films.Highlight was Carcassonne Cite by day when a bit busier (do the castle tour 9 euros, European citizens under 25 go free, need proof of age), and at night very atmospheric but quiet not much was open but still had a lovely meal. Try the cassoulette anywhere. Good Saturday food market in Place Carnot centre of town. Celt pub good pub vibe, sky sports good mix of locals and tourists.Trip to Limoux 1 euro train or bus from the strain station nice but very quiet. Airport shuttle from the train station 5 euros each from stop in front of the station, times linked to flight times. Le bistrot restaurant near the train station good food, value and choice excellent for last meal before flight, (only small cafe at the airport and no restaurants nearby). November was a bit too quiet and cold would suggest spring or late summer if planning a visit. The Lawrence family.
