Would not stay here again. The house was covered in cobwebs and had not been thoroughly cleaned. While most surface areas were clean, there were problems all over the house (food particles on the floor, previous guests items under the beds, etc). The first night we were there we found a kitchen drawer with evidence of mice as they had chewed a bunch of soy sauce packets. We also had to have the property manager come out that night to fix the garbage disposal as the sink was fully backed up (they got it fixed and were very nice). A surprising amount of the lights in the house were not functional at all and the house seems to be in need of major electrical attention. The mix of incandescent lightbulbs and LED (in the same fixture) was unpleasant and the LED bulbs would flicker/strobe every few minutes. There is also a porch-swing hung in the room next to the kitchen that is very unsafe and should not be installed in the house (A member of our party actually fell and got hurt when the swing flipped over backwards while he was attempting to sit in it.). There was little communication before the stay, and this is the first rental weâve ever stayed in that didnât have a binder with house information. It would have been nice to know that there are two thermostats (the bedrooms were freezing), and that the hall bathroom has a fan (the switch is hidden in the cupboard over the toilet).
Base camp for a wedding in Centralia and it was perfect for family & friends. Beautiful property with all the amenities needed! Would highly recommend this place and will definitely book again if needed. Thanks so much for the hospitality!
Property Wasnât Clean Upon Arrival - Otherwise OK
The property wasnât clean upon arrival. We got in touch with the property manager and received a partial refund. The location overlooks a small lake right off the highway. The house is nice and spacious.
Large house for a family- âlakeâ is more of a pond & I-5 is directly across. Not picturesque if thatâs what youâre expecting. Bedrooms and baths were clean and well stocked. Kitchen - not so much. Lots of dishes and silverware. Kurreâs only- but they do supply k cups. Creamer also, but was well past its expiration date!
Our short stay was interrupted by plumbers showing up after owner said they were cancelled at our request since we were getting ready for elderly visitors. No coffee, 1/2 of house not heated due to malfunctioning heating system. Porch light didnât work, making it difficult for 93 year old to navigate steps.
Enjoyed the spaciousness
We were busy with a family wedding so were not there a lot but so enjoyed the great home environment as opposed to being in separate hotel rooms
It was lovely
I decided to throw something together last minute as usual for Labor Day weekend and got real lucky finding this listing. Though it was on the upper end of my budget, given it was last minute and wanting to get my family together, it was well worth it. We had a hiccup with the door code when checking in but the property company and owner quickly helped. This was an older home but recently patched up and renovated. Very spacious and entertaining. Ping pong table, pool table, and fishing is what most of us liked.
The lake is a behind the house down a somewhat steep set set of stairs. It leads you to a nice little concrete pad with a fire pit and plenty of chairs to fish and relax. I wanted to use my inflatable boat but it was too far and steep to carry down.
There were a few items that should be addressed/fixed. The first is the TV, it ended up not working (froze) + guidance on whether the projector system was free to use. The second item that needs to be addressed were the couches by the pool table. The backing kept falling off making it uncomfortable and at times a safety hazard. The last item would be the sound system. It was a such a cool feature and if we knew how to work it, would have enhanced our stay.
In summary, we would stay again. A nice little getaway that is still close to everything.
