Would not recommend

Hotel called me the day of arrival and stated the room I had booked a month ago, was not available. Room given was dirty. Other option had “smoky smell” from self cleaning oven malfunctioning earlier in the day. There were Ashes on top of the fridge and empty juice container… Stains all over the couches & kitchen chairs. Had barely any kitchen utensils, when was listed as “fully furnished”. Fridge was dirty with food left inside. Noise/running/yelling all hours of the night. Shampoo /conditioner / body wash dispensers all empty in showers. Coffee pot in lobby didn't work and the worker didn't get response as to where the key was. No extra garbage bags, towels, laundry soap available due to “new owners taking over and not ordering supplies” . Gym was not sanitary (toilet overflowing) and outside fire pit broken. Not as nice as pictures at all

Rude

Use to have great staff before Wydham took over and they replaced almost all the employees. Courtyard is nice firepit does not work hasn’t in months . Terricka the new assistant manager is rude and just a nasty person all around. The best thing about waterwalk is Joy and Zayda at front desk two of the best people we’ve ever met .

Should have picked a different place.

My daughter, grandson and I stayed one night while in Charlotte. I was not aware just how many people were using the hotel like an apartment or how inappropriate it was for our situation. The people hanging around the property made us uncomfortable, the room was not cleaned well. We would not recommend or return again.

HORRIBLE

They canceled my room that I had PAID for since April 2024 on the arrival date after checkin time and I was stranded in Charlotte. Hotels.com stated that it was an unforeseen site emergency and acted as if relocating me was a courtesy. Contacted Hotel directly they just kept repeating “contact Hotels.com. Rep was unprofessional and rude directly at hotel. Trip was for the Dallas Cowboy’s game.

Great potential, do better

Pros-room was very clean and actually very nice Cons-got a message the night before asking if I wanted to do a pre check-in. I did it. Filled everything out, provided picture of license, and provided credit card number for incidentals. I got to check-in and had to give them everything all over again. Sooo that was pointless doing it ahead. -Cable box in one bedroom didn’t work. No volume in the other bedroom -Neither bathroom had any soap in the dispensers. One had shampoo. -Couldn’t get the room to warm up. It was 63 degrees so we tried to turn the heat up. Nothin. Woke up and it was 61. It’s winter We didn’t address anything because we were so tired and it was just for the night. We did get out of there very early and won’t stay there again. As I said though, the room was nice and clean and the place has great potential

They put us in a room with a messy bed, tv on, people’s stuff in the closet, & food on the counters. The next room we were put in smelled awful & we had to buy Febreze, the trash was completely full & we had to bring it to the front desk, the soap in both bathrooms had men’s pubic hair on them, & the sink wouldn’t drain. We asked for new soap & the front desk didn’t know where to find any & didn’t attempt to find it. Every night around 10, a loud white noise hummed & a clicking sound came from the walls every 10-15 minutes for 30 minutes. Every day we got back to the hotel room from going out, the temp was bumped up to 90 when we had it set on 70. Then we got charged twice. We booked with card 1 through Expedia and the property texted us for express check-in, at which time we used card 2. When we checked in, we told them we wanted to use card 2. Up to this point, we had let everything go. However, they told us they would not refund us for the amount that was charged twice unless we checked out early. We called Wyndham corporate who said they weren’t responsible. We contacted Expedia, who contacted the front desk. The front desk told Expedia we were lying about the room issues & cleanliness & that’s why they wouldn’t refund us. Finally, the Expedia rep got them to fix it and the property told us we would get a refund, but we still haven’t seen one. The cherry on top was that they disconnected our key cards two hours before checkout.
