The room was clean. The check-in process went smoothly. Service was terrible, highlighted by no WiFi and a room thermostat disabled by management so we could not get the room temp below 77 degrees. When we talked to the front desk clerk he offered two choices. 1. Suffer like everyone else. 2. Step outside to cool off. One of the most bizarre responses imaginable from the front desk clerk. Eventually a maintenance worker was sent to our room to reset the wifi router and he explained that management chose to "turn off" the HVAC system so individual room thermostats could not adjust the individual room temps. He suggested we talk to the front desk manager. We returned to the front desk to speak with the manager about the room temperature. There was no manager available after 10PM, but the front desk clerk began shouting at us, saying we were acting like privileged people. When we tried to deescalate the situation he would make more inflammatory accusations. The security person on site attempted to calm things, but the guy at the front desk kept yelling and threatening to call the police. The security person on site texted the hotel manager to have the front desk person removed, but was unable to reach them after 10PM. All of this because we wanted Wifi and the temperature below 77 in our room. We considered moving to another hotel, but realized it would ruin our New Year's eve plans. I will NEVER stay in a Riu Hotel again. The worst customer service ever.

Great location, very clean and amazing free breakfast buffet. Would definitely stay and recommend this hotel. The only knock would be the parking. They don’t have valet and it is a bit confusing when getting yourself set up for the parking that is located around the corner. Once you figure out what needs to be done it’s fine but would have been nice to have valet.

Everything was wonderful except for the young lady who checked us in. I cannot remember her name but she seemed to be in a poor mood. Had handed me the wrong receipt, I didn’t notice until after the fact when trying to to use the WiFi… maybe she just had a bad day but the place was perfect
