What a wonderful place to stay
What a wonderful place to stay. Everyone was very friendly and loved loved loved our room. It is very different staying in a building from the 1900s compared to a modern day hotel. But we will definitely be back!

The property being almost 100 years old is well maintained and clean. Some of the details in the interior woodwork is quite magnificent. Our room, while small, was very clean and comfortable. I had read comments regarding road noise on road side rooms but our room which was on the road side was quiet. We enjoyed our stay and plan to stay here again.

The property is a 1927 mansion in a very good condition. Operated with a minimal staff. Very elegant restaurant and bar, open 3 evenings per week. The breakfast room is nice and clean with reduced options for low calorie eaters.

In Florida a properly functioning AC system is a must.. the Thermostat to the up stairs rooms are in the hallway and control a total of 4 rooms at a time. I figured this out only after alerting the staff that it felt like 80 degrees in my room. After speaking to the staff about this issue I was prompted to change the thermostat in the halfway but the AC never cooled down significantly. I read about this issues in the reviews so it’s on going thing.. it’s truly a shame because otherwise the hotel is very nice with an old Florida feel. The staff members are very friendly and the hotel and rooms seem very clean.

The history of the Lodge was interesting, we really liked the staff, so friendly, also the room was extra clean!! We did have a room facing the highway, so it was a bit noisy, however, considering the age of the property, and single glass windows, it is to be expected! Overall, a great stay.

Wonderful hosts. Room was comfortable with amazing bed and shower. For an historical building, expectations need to be commensurate… just take in the ambience of history, nature, great staff, and wonderful get away from the fray. Restaurant and bar were great. Ample servings….fresh food!
