Visited Caldwell with my wife and 2 (9/6 yr old) children to “get away” one more time before end of year. Check-in process was seamless and access to the property was simple. Inside was nice and clean, beds were comfortable and we slept our family of 4 with ease. The outside area was pleasant and the fencing was great to keep the dogs securely inside the large backyard.
The listing shows honest pics of the property. The only negatives to this property are that the WiFi was too spotty to enjoy watching/streaming a sports event, very few plates/cups/dishes/silverware/ condiments available to use, the house being too close to a busy thoroughfare, and security/outdoor lighting being intrusive.
One of the main reasons we chose this house was the outdoor bar area to watch all the end of year NCAAF Bowl Games. We asked the owner to reset WiFi which seemed to help, but every 5-10 minutes I had to exit out of any app I was streaming on and restart it to catch glimpses of the football games. The outdoor bar area is great for hanging out at during the day and cooking; during the evening there is a flood light (does not turn off) located on the house next door facing the outdoor sitting area (see pic), as well as the security camera/light on the opposite side (with motion-detected activation and having 2 dogs, this wasn’t visitor friendly). I tried placing a sock over the motion-sensored security light, but doing so notified the seller that I dismantled the entire camera system and an unnecessary phone conversation took place.
The beds were very comfortable, but the sound of the 18-wheelers going 70+mph on the road adjacent to the property are a constant throughout the night and you’ll want to be a deep sleeper when going down for the night.
We unfortunately made the decision to leave the property a day earlier than originally anticipated.
